I think this might be the 46th time on this thread I've made the same point....

Yes, Obama is bad.  We're asked to make a choice between the lesser of evils, because Wall Street owns WASHINGTON.  Not democrats, not republicans, both parties.  So given this reality, I support OWS because they are the only group that is pointing out the corruption of both parties.

I'll vote for Obama because the alternative is a GOP proud puppet of Wall Street who tells you that he will reward their corruption by cutting their taxes to zero, that he'll reward their corruption by removing any restraints to plunder and loot unsuspecting dupes, who is proud to tell you that what caused the crisis last time wasn't crooks, but was big gummint, and so he'll take deregulation to another level and quit even pretending.

If you want to defend your choice, then fine.  Go for it.  But you can't pretend like I can vote for a real reformer or Obama, so I'm an idiot for choosing Obama.  I can vote for a PROUD puppet of Wall Street or Obama - the lesser of evils.  And I don't think the choice is difficult.

Like I said, you can if you want defend your own choice.  I notice you didn't do that, just pointed out again that I have poor choices.  Right, for the 47th time this isn't an actual surprise to me.  It's why I support OWS that is calling out BOTH PARTIES, including Obama.

But that isn't to say that my choices are equivalent or equally awful.  Obama proposed and the democratic House passed an end to the hedge fund giveaway.  The GOP Senate filibustered this, and the GOP presidential candidates all support a tax subsidy for Wall Street gambling activity.  Furthermore, Obama has proposed and the democrats support tax increases on the wealthy.  The GOP on the other hand, promise to 1) shut down government before this happens, and 2) to REDUCE taxes on the crooks, with most of them pushing for ZERO tax rates on Wall Street gambling.

Pelosi and the democrats passed ending many oil and gas subsidies.  The GOP filibustered this.  The democrats proposed to end deductions for offshoring American jobs, and the GOP filibustered this.  The democrats passed a bill requiring disclosure of political contributions.  The GOP wants donors names kept secret.  The GOP swore to never confirm any nominee to head the Consumer Finance Protection Board and in fact never did allow a vote.  The GOP blames the financial collapse on poor people who borrowed too much, the bankers were victims who paid themselves seven and eight figure bonuses while being oppressed and forced to lend to deadbeats.  And the GOP believes we didn't go far enough in deregulating the banks, and oppose Dodd Frank in its entirety.  Self regulation resulted in a worldwide financial collapse, so we need MORE self regulation, aka deregulation, according to republicans.  Republicans think the deadbeats are the bottom half of the working population who pay no INCOME taxes, and their taxes should be raised, but taxes on the wealthy cut further.  We can pay for these tax cuts by shifting about 30% of health care costs to seniors, and reducing SS.

So given my imperfect choices, convince me I should vote for Romney or any republican.

Seriously, what proposal by any of the clowns in the Florida primary do you support?

And AGAIN, it is why I believe the majority of OWS will vote for Obama. You provide me all of the proof I need for that since you are in the same camp. Yet you argue against yourself by saying they are not more inclined to vote for Obama.

I never said they aren't "more inclined" to vote for Obama.  What I said was they are calling out Obama and democrats.  Gave you the links and a suggested search you could do on your own.  But they will have two choices same as you and me.  A democrat, and a republican.  For President and a House seat and maybe a senate seat and they will decide between, most of them, bad or worse.

And what ANY movement does, and the Tea party is a brilliantly successful example of this, is push within the party for principles they believe in.  So there's nothing inherently wrong with pushing for change within a party and recognizing that while that's occurring you have reality to deal with, and therefore TWO options.  For President, it will be Obama or Romney, and so, given those TWO options - not three, or six, TWO, ONE OF THEM WILL BE PRESIDENT - who do you vote for.

Please, tell me the top two reasons why I should prefer "Corporations are people, my friend" Romney and the GOP, given my priorities.

BTW, yes, you can vote third party.  I encourage all you right wingers to vote third party.  Ron Paul!!  Ron Paul!! Ron Paul!!!  He won't be President and every vote for RP is a vote that didn't go to the GOP candidate!!

And I have said, vote for the one who thinks Corzine is an "honorable man" and one of Obama's "best partners" in the White House. Be loud and proud for the record setting recipient of Wall Street cash! You'll show'em!

Yes, for the nineteenth time, I have bad choices.  One person bought by Wall Street OR one who IS Wall Street and doesn't have to be bought, he's one of them and his party has proudly pledged to do their bidding.

You know I've asked several times now.  I guess you can't even TRY to justify voting for Romney without

JW, it's probably for the same reason that Hank Paulson's buddy Lloyd and fellow Goldman Sachs plutocrat isn't in prison.

Like I said, your tripe isn't even interesting anymore.  There is literally NOTHING that you don't look at through a blind partisan lens.  Wall Street isn't corrupt, DEMOCRATS on Wall Street are corrupt.

And in this case, your question is why Corzine isn't in jail.  Well, to be in jail, he has to have broken a law.  The reason the money "disappeared" is the firm allegedly used customer deposits to gamble with.  The Dodd Frank bill made the barriers between customers and speculation greater.  Your GOP opposed that, YOU oppose that, because.... in the idiot right wing view, Gubment REGULATIONS, aka laws against using YOUR money to gamble with, are BADDDD!!!!!  They don't believe in "regulation" aka "laws" and think the banks should self regulate because FREE MARKETS!!!  And if you have self regulation, you have, by definition, no laws to break.  Ergo, in a case like this, by definition, your idiot ideology means Corzine can't go to jail because he broke no laws.  And he can't be sued, since he operated through a corporation or perhaps an LLC that limits his personal exposure, because, TRIAL LAWYERS = BADDDD!!!!  So, again, in your idiot ideology, those customers sole recourse is to go against the bankrupt firm.

I've said more than is necessary.  But this is what kills me about right wingers.  They see an instance where failure to regulate, aka have laws to prevent using customers deposits to gamble with, is obvious, and right wingers demand a person who lost money go to jail.  Except right wingers don't believe in the very laws, aka regulations, that would guarantee he went to jail and in fact on every day when they're not targeting anyone aligned with the Democratic party, they DESPISE ANY REGULATIONS, aka laws that make conduct like Corzine's illegal.

I am well aware of business structure and laws involving the SEC. I have an unusual interest in this sort of thing. No need to explain your extreme left warped interpretation of the law you picked up from an Axelrod talking/thinking point or from a blurb of liberal dogma you read in Mother Jones Magazine. I don't need your talking/thinking points. Perhaps you can find a dumb Board Board on a virus invested part of the web with some gullible types to inculcate with this sort of pablum. You see, I have what you might call an "elementry" understanding of business form, SEC laws and regulations, and tort law when it comes to sorting out a total abuse of investor trust as demonstrated by Democrat Senator/Governor Corzine in this matter under discussion. I am still scratching my head and trying to understand how a punk and a clown like this Obama-supporting Democrat former Goldman Sachs Executive could hold elected office TWICE. It is rather odd and somewhat of an incongruity that you keep coming on this Board and berating citizens of Tennessee by telling them how "stupid " and "dumb" they are for their conservatism; yet we have a traditionally liberal and corrupt northeastern seaboard state electing this Jon Corzine not only to the exalted position of Senator but Governor as well and yet you have the temerity to berate the good people of Tennessee for their steadfast conservatism. Did I miss something here?

I don't exactly know what you are talking about with the Countrywide Dodd/ Herb Moses pretend spouse of Barney Frank legislation (for those of you wanting to know what I am referring to goggle "Countywide Senator Chris Dodd and Friends of Angelo" as well as "Fannie Mae's Herb Moses the Barney Frank Boyfriend and Pretend Spouse"). That legislation was passed before this malfeasance and maleficence on the part of Democrat Governor/Senator from New Jersey Jon Corsine was perpetrated. This was nothing short of an act of odious act of thevery. "I see it, I want it, I will take it." This seems to be the refrain of all Liberals regardless of the Socioeconomic status.  I am going to go back to the original question for the third time. Why is Democrat Governor/Senator from New Jersey Jon Corsine not in prison for absconding with over $1,200,000,000.00 of hard-earned cash from various investors?

PS- I hear Obama super-mega $$$$$ supporters George Soros and Warren Buffet made out like bandits on this colossal Corzine duplicitous Investment scandal debacle. Can you give us any detail on this as well?

And if you're familiar with the law, you know most of it required the drafting of regulations for the laws to take effect, and the section dealing with segregating accounts was not, as I understand it, finalized yet because of slow walking.  The GOP opposed the whole thing, and is still fighting like hell to prevent ANY of it from taking effect.

But that's not the point.  If you're against regulations, you ought to be HAPPY Corzine isn't in prison.  According to your ideology, the "free market" does a FINE job of preventing this kind of thing.  So, no laws necessary, there is "market pressure" to not comingle depositor funds with gambling funds, and that's enough!!  Too bad so sad for the depositors...  right?

Or maybe you want DEMOCRATS who can be tied to Obama to go to jail, but everyone ELSE should "self regulate."

All your replies are simply the ramblings of a pent-up frustrated dinosaur Marxist from back in the day. Those of you on the extreme left of the political spectrum told us the Countrywide Dodd/Herb Moses Fannie Mae Barney Frank Bill was desperately needed and was going to fix all this corruption. Now that we have had the time to reconnoiter that argument not only looks foolish but is rather disingenuous to boot. Look, all I am asking is why is Democrat Governor/Senator from New Jersey Jon Corsine not in prison for absconding with over $1,200,000,000.00 of hard-earned cash from various investors? Is the Attorney General and SEC Chair so busy they can't look into this matter? If those of you on the extreme left are truly concerned about preserving the trust of the investor why is Democrat Jon Corzine walking free as I sit and dictate this text on my i-Phone 4s. What gives?
