First time a real football coach has been in Knoxville in a non football facility in a long time.  Coach Spurrier is at the Lady Vols basketball game tonight.  Go get his autograph fellas....

Well the Lady Gamecocks broke a 28 game SEC home floor winning streak @ Tennessee last night.  I guess Coach Spurrier should go to more games.  A win in Knoxville was a first for Dawn Staley's program.

I saw the ole Ball coach at the game, he and Pat are close friends. He was pulling for the Gamecocks and he and his wife probably stopped over at the Summit house pre game.

Pat needs to hang it up, she has earned the right to LEAVE ON HER OWN TERMS but I hope it is sooner rather than later. She looks awful on the sidelines. This team should frustrate her enough for her to want to retire.

I fear if she stays beyond the time than Joan is still here that the Jethro Element will gut the program on the next hire. TN should never take Alabama approach to women's BB. If she leaves NOW while Joan is still in Power she can make the next hire with the appropriate money to pay for a decent staff. The big worry from all the women's side of athletics is a recruiting budget slashed by the new world order. The entire women's recruiting budget is just over 1 Million $$ Many of the middle tier WAD staff are being phased out and lawsuits have cropped up including the Women's Training staff. I think Jenny Moshak will end up out the door before it is all said and done and up and comer Catherine Johnson will end up as the head lady trainer for all women's sports rolled under the men's AT department. The next WBB coach will be lucky to be paid $$400,000 IMO as they try to wrap staff around the new coach. 2-3 million dollars for staff days are behind us at UT when Pat leaves. First year WBB coach Nikki Caldwell is being paid $900K/year and many would love to see her come here. I just doubt we can afford her. I doubt Holly gets the nod and without the money for staff I can't see her succeeding. This situation is already hurting recruiting as the #2 recruit in this class Kaela Davis who has be committed for 2 years has opened up the recruiting process.

It is a bit embarrassing to have been concerned with the human problem all one's life and find at the end that one has no more to offer by way of advice than "try to be a little kinder".

So LSU chicks can pay more than UT? Really?

Why should anyone put the University of the Lady Vols in any higher regard than what Alabama does? This is a meaningless sport throughout the country. No school makes any money in woman's sports. What rational can you have to pay someone more for chick basketball than for any other non revenue sport?

I can't see UT paying $900,000 for Caldwell nor do I think she has a large enough body of work to merit that

We pay $600,000 / year for Dawn Staley and the traditionalists were irate that a non revenue generating sport was paying a coach that much.  Those same guys loved the win over Tennessee last week.

Dawn needs Coach Spurrier to attend a few home games pre-announced to generate some extra ticket sales so her sport can pay her salary.   I believe she will win big @ Carolina and be around awhile.  She might be our next coach to win a National Championship.  She recruits well and this year she has beaten North Carolina and Tennessee on the road in the same season.

Was SOS using his walking cane at the game Plumber?  He just had knee replacement surgery about 3 weeks ago and had been using one.

Alabama has a very good coach in Wendell Hudson that is trying to build a program from the ground up with little money or support other than the fanbase. The guy is Crimsonn red to the bone. They actually won a recruiting battle against Alabama, Auburn, TN, and LSU for an in state kid and they have a very good player out with an injury. They are coming off a top 10 on the nation recruiting class. The reality for Hudson is a situation that has a glass ceiling, but his status as a ex Alabama HOF player is that with a little patience and with his history with the tide he might be able to climb over the hill. I agree with Plumber Tennessee's next coach should not face such a hurdle.
