Fewer People Working and More People Unemployed Than Last Month: Yet..........

(1/1)

Just Win:
Fact 1 - We Have fewer Americans working this month compared to last  month,

Fact 2 - More people are unemployed this month when compared to last month

Despite these two dreadful facts the Obama Department of Labor is alleging unemployment has gone down to an  ASTRONOMICAL 8.3% (Higher than the 8.0% were were told it would NOT exceed if we borrowed $1,000,000,000,000.00 from China for a Shovel-Ready Jobs Program.).  Can one of you condescending extreme left types please explain this illogical rot?

NCVol:
Which propaganda outfit is giving you the talking point for today?

Yes, your facts are correct.  There is ALWAYS a big hiring boost for the Christmas season and every.single.year, even during Saint Reagan's administration, lots of them are laid off in January because fewer people are shopping, etc., which means fewer people working and therefore more unemployed.  So, this year is like EVERY OTHER JANUARY in your long lifetime, with fewer working in January than December.

So what is your point.  Do you want extra credit for stating the obvious.

Here's another blinding flash of the obvious.  There were a LOT fewer people working TODAY (Saturday) than YESTERDAY (Friday).  And the reason is a lot of people take Saturday off!!!  So if we wanted to take Saturday employment and figure out if the number working today, a Saturday in early February, was indicative of a good economy or bad, we couldn't compare it to Friday, because we KNOW there will be many fewer working.  So we'd compare it to a normal SATURDAY using historical data to figure that out.  And if there were MORE working today than a normal Saturday, we could presume that the economy is healthy, even though there will always be MANY fewer working than Friday.  That's essentially what's happening with seasonable adjustments except we're comparing January to January instead of Saturday to Saturday.

If you can't get that, then take an economics course.

BTW, who said conservatives were dumb???   /Philly/ /ROFLMAO/ /magnum/ /TBA/ /SPS?

Seriously, if that's the kind of talking point that works for the modern conservative, the movement is in worse shape than even I thought.... /Lane/ /Fulmerini/.
