Anyone with any intelligence could tell, the blue areas are mainly around the large cities and areas of dense population.    A lot of non producers in those areas.

If you ignore the demographics of the election, that would sell really good.  As is it's called DENIAL.

The democrats picked up 22 house seats, seven or 8 Senate seats and now have a majority of governorships.  Obama won or tied EVERY income class, including a majority of those making over 100k and over 200k, every education group, HS grads, college grads, post college grads.  McCain won old, southern white, frequent church goers.

Futhermore, the "blue" states actually are net payers of taxes, the red states mostly welfare recipients when it comes to federal taxes.

But of course, those are reality based facts, which don't mean a lot in GOP land....

The color of the counties don't lie.    My point is, Obama didn't get an overwhelming majority of the votes.

When you promise 95% of Americans will get a tax cut but you receive less than 55% of the vote, I`d say you are not a very good lier either. How do you give 95% a tax cut when only about 40% pay taxes to begin with?

Here's the way NRO described the point in 2004:

Quote
Today's comforting myth [it was welfare recipients and not fake Americans who voted for Obama] is sure to deliver real pain in the future. If one fails to even accept defeat, how can one identify the problems that led to defeat? Since the problems that brought on John Kerry's John McCain's and the republican party Election Day loss are in no small part due to the RIGHTLeft, concluding that the Arizona Massachusetts senator was never in fact defeated relieves conservatives leftists of the necessity to look inward critically.
