I watched the full documentary last night and thought it was very well done. They take strides to be non-partisan, although I'm sure some of the more sensitive members of the Political Parlor will find a reason to be offended.

It includes Warren Buffett, Alan Greenspan, Paul O'Neill, Robert Rubin, Paul Volcker, Ron Paul, and a host of people from all over the political and ideological spectrum. It helps explain fiscal and monetary policy in ways the average American can understand.

I'm not sure if the 30-minute version shows the "man on the street" interviews, but they were eye opening. When they are asking people if they knew amount of the national debt, one woman responds something like "I don't know, 30 million?". Wow. It's comforting to think her vote counts as much as mine.

Please take the time to watch this documentary and pass it on to your friends.  It may be the most important thing you ever watch.

Interesting and persuasive documentary.  It won't matter because of two reasons:

A) The average American doesn't give a $hiat.

2) The GOP HASN'T given a $hiat.

D) The Dems don't give a $hiat.

Unfortunately, you may be right.  I think they make a good point when they say the lack of leadership in Washington is the biggest hurdle to overcome.  The president is the only person who can bring this issue in to focus.  The only time in the last 50 years that occurred was during the Clinton administration, and I think that occurred by chance more than design.  Democrat president who was willing to raise taxes combined with a Republican congress hell bent on stopping any new spending proposed by a president they loathed.  Outside that perfect combination, we are a rudderless ship. 

As for ii), people will begin to care when the dollar collapses.  It will certainly hit them in the wallet.  Unfortunately it will be too late.
