I am giving up potatoes and bread from my diet.  One plus = that should be good for a few pounds in 40 days besides giving up something.

What say you ?  Do you participate in Lent ?

Let's see, Jesus was beaten and gave up his life on a cross.

Gus is gonna quit stuffing his face so he can fit into his bikini this summer. Yeah that about sums up Western Christianity.

Yea, cheap shot.

People throw God 10 cents of self righteousness and comment on how it relates to their waste line, and I'm the one throwing the cheap shot.

Do you really understand what Christ did for you?

I wonder if you get more pleasure from working in the ministry which Christ called you to, or seeing UK and Bama lose.

Did you hear about the Christian Moth?  He is giving up wool for lent.

Seriously though, I'm giving up drinking during the weekdays and will only pound brews on the weekend.

If JC can spend 40 days in the desert, fighting temptations before coming back to where he knew he'd be cruicified...then I guess I can suck it up and do without facebook!
I've given up facebook and mayo (I put mayo on way too much stuff).  I'm also going through RCIA right now at Sacred Heart.

Good For You Panthro, I will see you on Holy Saturday when they have the Rites of Initiation.. I am not a SH person, but my wife was and graduated from Sacred Heart School. Her 88 yr old Mother will want to attend that Mass so I know I will be there...
