It would be a disgrace if the SEC gets more than 2 or 3 in the big dance.  LSU, UT, and the winner of the SEC tourney.  Nobody else deserves a bid, imo.

Don't forget SC unless they lose to UT and tank in the tourney. The tourney will go along way to determine if 4 or 5 teams will get in. At this point, it will be a major achievement to get 4 teams.

I guess you could make a case for SC.  I don't think they deserve a bid if the season ended today, but with a win tonight and a win or two in the conference tourney, I could see it.

UT...LSU...USCe and thats debateable. LSU's OCS is embarassing plus they have beat up on a pathetic conference. The most telling stat about how bad the SEC is...Auburn is probably playing better than any team in the conference. Auburn!  The SEC don't stand a chance in hell at making any noise in the NCAA tourny. The only reason UT gets in is by default. Boo Hoo Buzzy's last team would of beat this years edition. I say 3 maybe 4 if there is a surprise winner of the SEC tourny.

I think 5-6 will get in.  LSU, UT, SC, Florida, and Auburn.  Heck, Kentucky might get in too.  I don't think they deserve to be in, but I didn't think they deserved it last year either.

You can bash the SEC all you want, but no other conference is out there dominating either.  You got 4 teams that look really good and the rest are beating each other up each week.  It's time to face it.  There is a good amount of parity in college basketball right now.

I don't think it matters how many teams get in from each of the conferences. Teams are so balanced this year. I can see a Duke losing in the first round like I can see a Missouri going to the Sweet 16. It's like I said a couple of weeks ago, UNC, UConn, and Pitt are the clear-cut 3 best teams in the country. But there are a dozen other teams that are just right there behind them. But all of them are very beatable. There's no obvious dominant team like the UNC team from a few years ago.

All that matters is how many from each conference make the Sweet 16.  Bragging about how many are in the top 65 ain't saying much.  It will be funny when the SEC has 2 or 3 in the final 16.

I think 4 to 5.  We have that big contract with ESPN for basketball kicking in next year and ESPN will want alot of our conference members in this tournament.  They will lobby for us big time.  If we have less than 4, I will be surprised.  Just like getting a job, it is not necessarily what you know that gets you the job but sometimes who likes you is more important.
