I wish Meangreen were here.  I love hearing about people's trips as did he.

A friend on here went to Myrtle Beach last month.

Another friend is going to Hong Kong.

My uncle and his lady friend are gone with her son and his wife to Canada via Niagra Falls.

A friend of mine and his girlfriend are in Italy for 3 weeks.

My longest and bestest friend is in Israel for a wedding this week.

One cousin is going to D.C. for a week.

Another cousin is taking his wife and my 86-year old aunt on an Alaskan cruise.  He is a pretty nice guy.  Did the Appalachian Trail 2 years ago and now is going to hike the Pacific Crest Trail out west.

The YOGA instructor is going to Destin next week.

The Mrs. and I are going to Glacier National Park next month with some friends.  I have dreamed about going to Glacier for 30 years.  From what I have seen and heard, the scenery must be stunning.  We are all excited.  I love Montana.

Anyone been to Glacier or planning a big trip this summer?  [BTW, I consider anything outside of Knoxville a big trip--even a trip to the Gulf to have one's towels folded by bamafever.   ]

I was at the beach in Destin all last week. It was great.  The Great Depression made the beach much more roomy.

My youngest son just returned from a week in Costa Rica. He brought back coffee  to Carol and I from a Plantation and a dark wood cross carving for his Grandmother. He visited a volcano and did the Pacific and Gulf of Mexico visit as well a Canopy Tour and zip lines. He visited schools there as well cloud forests. He brought back nice pictures of himself in a hot tub with a couple of other senior to be girls from his class..

Carol and I are planning a trip to Virginia Beach to visit the elder son...... He is looking at a possible transfer to Colorado(everybody in Colorado needs Forensic Software LOL) The Titan I Missile Silo Complex and the Atlas site are located there as is NORAD and Cheyenne Mountain Air Station. The USP Florence ADMAX is also there and many think the Terrorism detention facility will be there.

Just like every year, my family will spend a week on the Redneck Riviera, Orange Beach, Alabama.

Osky, we wanted to go to Glacier National Park when we were in Jackson Hole and Yellowstone last year but just couldn't fit in.  We drove about 800 miles while we were there anyway so adding the 600 miles up there and back would have been too much.  Let me know how you like it though.  Where are you flying into by the way?

By the way, we went to Las Vegas and the Grand Canyon during Spring Break.  We'd been to Vegas a few times so that part of it was just ok but the Grand Canyon part of it was fun.  We went to the West rim and saw the Glass Skywalk.  Pretty fun but scary might I add.

I presume that this is me you are talking about. If not, I stand corrected.

My trip was a group of 12 golfers at Pawleys Island, SC, about 20 miles south of Myrtle Beach. This is an annual trip (21st year) and is always a lot of fun. It was also Harley Week in Myrtle Beach, so we had to dodge a few motorcycles, as usual.

Now that the annual golf outing has come and gone, my only other summer trip will probably be Fourth of July weekend in Sewanee.

I took a great vacation this year! I spent 95 days in the hospital! How will I ever top that one?

I am hoping to fly to Chicago this summer, rent a car and spend a week with my youngest son who is in Culinary School there.  Take in the Cubs, Sox, the museums, tons of restaurants and the Great Lakes Naval Base.  I was stationed at Hdqs., 9th Naval District when I got home from Nam.

I just spent a few days in Jacksonville.  I have friends there so it was a vacation on the cheap.  People don't think of it as a nice place, but you get Daytona Beach without all the tourists and and nice scenery as well.  Also there is the ocean and wildlife.
