Small blurb in the paper today.

They had about 15 players off of that great team at midfield before a stinking PAY REVIEW game and Coach Mike Hamilton could not tell those morons running the stinking show to take the time and introduce each player to the crowd.  SHOW some CLASS!!  PATHETIC and you would know how PATHETIC had you seen it.  Like it or not, Johnny's brother was on it, Hall-of-Famer Steve Kiner was on it, Coach Fulmer was on it, Curt Watson was on it,  Jackie Walker was on it, and others we could have used now.

It never occurs to Hamilton that many in the crowd might want to know who the past players are--especially the champions.  NEVER occurs to him!

What a PATHETIC welcome to those 1969 UT Volunteers who took their time and money to come to be "honored" before the game.  The game was OHIO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gotta get those sorry UT cheerleaders on the field for another WORTHLESS cheer.

I will bet they showed a TOTAL of 15 plays from that great SEC Championship Season.  Pathetic.

If UT had 8 National FB Championships, I could understand the bum's rush given these players, but we don't and I don't understand the shoddy treatment.

Oh, the UTAD doesn't know how to act publicly unless there is a check and a photo opp involved.  I am just tired of the SUPERFICIAL stunts that the UTAD does and presents as "recognition."

These UT FB champs and lettermen were poorly treated and deserve an apology from the bean counter in charge!

Greats who were not introduced that I could identify.:

Bobby Scott

Lon Herzburn (LB coach)

Tim Priest

If it makes you happy I gave Dickey a big applause.  I might have mumbled thank you for ruining basketball for most of my life and for being a jerk to me, but I still clapped.

excellent point! that was a great team and the time and honor should not have been so sparing. that was a weak commemoration to say the least. i felt embarrassed for coach dickey, coach herzburn,  and the players.

Sometimes I can't believe the stupidity coming from the UTAD.  What a shame to these great former Vols.  And they should have held this before the Auburn or Georgia game.

With all due respect, we do waaayyy too much of that crap. Take a look around at other SEC stadiums, they aren't doing these 30-second productions during a tv time-out. Let it GO alltogether!

That 1969 TEAM EARNED the 10 minutes out there they did not get AND each of those guys earned INDIVIDUAL INTRODUCTIONS!

Those guys have remained fans of UT football for 40 years!!!

*********

BTW, your boy Low-Class Basilio thinks he is the greatest part of UT sports and wants to sit in judgement and DEMONIZE UT players and coaches including ones on that team for profit and he doesn't even go to the stinking UT games.

I agree. Each person's name should have been announced. One of the most talented teams to ever wear the orange.

The 67, 69, 85, 97, 98 teams were all very special teams in my lifetime. They along with the 1951 and 1956 teams should have special above and beyond just a team introduction IMHO. The 51 and 98 are as good as it gets and the pomp and circumstance should be kicked up a notch for these 2 very special squads...

You can also make a case for the 71 squad..... as far as lumping them in with the 67,69,85,97, teams
