Big win for the Twins in the first game of the day/night doubleheader 3-2

Big Joe from K-ville tried to blow up in the bottom of the 10th, but hung on for the save.

The Tigers throw Verlander tonight, however his ERA vs the Twins is almost 5 over the last 2 years, so I'll take my chances, even with the rookie Duensing throwing the nitecap

GO TWINS!!!!

BRed, if you are the poster I think you are, aren't you from Arkansas?    If so, how in the name of Harmon Killebrew did you become a Twins fan?

My wife's family are all from Minneapolis Jeeeshh!! Hell my MIL just got back from visiting the rest of her family from up there Sunday!  So I am a Twins Fan, unfortunately. I watch the Cubs and the Twins, that means I am almost pathetic!!

I love it when they win that means that sorry SOB owner will never get to shut that team down........ He wanted and lobbied for major league baseball contraction because the other owners would pay him more for shutting down the team than it was worth. The city formed an association to buy the Twins and was given capital to buy him out for what the program was worth and he turned them down!! This was the year after they won their division. They had great crowds at the games, the stadium was fan and home team friendly but the owner wanted Minneapolis and Minnesota to build him a new ballpark and they said NO! Build your own!! The banshee came to drag owner Carl Pohlad to hell on January 5, 2009, all Twins fans rejoiced!! His sons took over and they are paying the bills out of their pocket and embracing the city and its fans...

Go Twins!!

With playoff time fast approaching we could use some baseball updates....

The Marlins knocked off the Braves, 5-4, and Florida was eliminated from postseason. Atlanta still has  playoff hopes.

Colorado defeated Milwaukee, that moved the Rockies three games ahead of Atlanta in the NL wild card race with only five games remaining for both clubs. Colorado's victory also knocked the Marlins out of the playoff hunt.

DAMN!!!

Lost a nail-biter in the nitecap 6-5.  Twins dug themselves a 5-0 hole, came back to 5-4, Matty Guerrier gives up a HR in the bottom of the 8th to make it 6-4.  Twins able to score one in the top of the 9th and had the tying run at 2nd when Span flied out to end the game.

Carl Pavano is set to go for the Twins tonight.  He is a perfect 4-0 vs the Tigers this year.  Still down 2, but have 2 more in Detroit before closing out the Dome (thank God) vs KC

GO TWINS!!!

Knowledge,

Yes, I am the same poster you're thinking of
No, I am not from Arkansas
We had this discussion previously when the Minnesota Gopher hockey team was making a run in the NCAA tourney

Go Rockies.  Whatever it takes to keep the Braves out of the playoffs.

The Braves pitching will be enough to keep them out of the playoffs.
