A Classic,

Nah probably a blowout. Maryville is not the Maryville of old, but I expect an old fashioned   whuppin! Folks like to see how they matchup against the best programs, I am not all that excited!

I want to see how we matchup against school of similar size, you know Schools like Catholic with a 6-800 student body!!

PlumbBob is Catholic's program down somewhat this year ?  Do the fans and players like the new coach?

Gus, probably down a little bit, but the competition is a lot better. We traded Gibbs, Anderson County, Stone Memorial, Kingston Morristown West for Bearden, Farragut, Maryville, and West.

We lost to Webb, but Webb's program is up and an experienced bunch and will beat lots of teams they face.

We can hang with some of these schools and even win some games but depth will kill us. We play around 16 guys and lets face it some of these schools have 30 guys that play at least a half a game. Catholic will have 9 guys who will play 95% of every snap. The other 6-7 will play at least 60% of snaps.

We can line up and play the big boys a couple games a year but after that they get really worn down. The school only holds 600-650 students tops. The only way to change that is to start a building campaign and add another 400 students and have an open door policy. Not going to happen in the near future.

We got our State Championship and the chip off our shoulder and that is just about as good as it is going to get. We have to assume the position and take it like a true Spartan man with the reality of the 1.8 multiplier

Maybe if you had kids involved in high school sports, you'd see it differently.

Maryville will be missing arguable their best player and another linebacker because of injuries from last week. Their defense has been playing much better but they are thin and losing West, starting tailback and part time LB, and Cox, a starting LB will hurt them against Catholic. Ala Alcoa if Meadows is smart enough to run damn the ball.

I think Meadows is smart enough to run the football, the problem as I stated before is that the OL and DL are the same folks.  Sometimes Catholic passes the ball to rest the linemen. Pass blocking= no surge off the ball and less wear and tear IMO, or so I was told ny a coach on the staff last year when Pemberton ran the WingT.

I think Meadows is doing pretty good job, but he is no Pemberton. I am sorry their really are not that many difference makers in any level of sports. I think Quarles is in that category. Like I said Meadows is doing a good job under the circumstances but he never jumped out at me as an exceptional coach before he came to KCHS. Any comments?

Smart coach in the sense that he positions himself where talent exist. When the talent dries up he is out of there..........

Finally, we agree on something.  I've always said, some people should not reproduce!!

Catholic's lack of depth will be exposed again tonight, Maryville should win tonight by a lot.
