The guy is impressive and it was the battle cry for 2 years when Coach Fulmer was here and the 1180 Whine & Biscuit Crowd was in full whine!

Anyone think Lane could have won 60 in a row at Maryville without Monte & O?

He could coach receivers, running backs, & special teams and recruit well for UT.

He coached Aaron Douglas well.

He could bring fans from Blount County to fill Neyland Stadium.

We might get more Alcoa players.

Given his wife is a banker, so I am sure he is sophisticated enough to help grease the money people with a little social lubrication.  She could keep her job.

He is more classy than Lane in public and might tone down Lane's mouth a little.

If we paid Wilson $150,000, we have the money to spend on George Quarles.

We need someone who could coach the offense when Jim Chaney moves back to the NFL.

He would show up at the Quarterback Club, if he agreed to speak.

Hire, Quarles!!!

BTW, I would like to hear your arguments against his hire!

Yes.

Also, I am sure he has established, and will establish, some good relationships at the Army All-American game (coaches and players).

I think Coach Quarrels enjoys his family time too much to take a college job like Tennessee.  That would all be lost and I believe his family is too important.  I know HS coaches spend a lot of time with their teams but nothing like a major college job.  Plus all the travel and time spent recruiting.  I am also sure the Quarrels have all the money they need now and don't need a few more bucks.  Money isn't everything.  George stay where you are.  Your life will be much fuller if you do.

Some coaches are meant to be high school coaches and G.Q. is one of those IMO.

Gus,

The question is whether Lane should hire Coach Quarles?  Not whether Quarles should accept or turn it down.

Do you think Lane should hire Coach Quarles, given the list I presented?

The continued cry of the 1180 Whine & Biscuit Crowd has been, "We let Randall Cobb get away when we needed him."  Lane, himself, even cries about Cobb.

Don't you think it would be a mistake for Lane to let Quarles get away when we need him?  He is right over there.  I would hate for Lane to be crying about Quarles when someone offers him a bigger job and money comensurate with his obvious skills.

Sas,

The guy obviously has people skills and can command young and old alike.  Good point.

I think he would be a winner for Lane.

Teaching Drivers Ed seems like it would be a really stressful job.

Are you worried about Coach Quarles being named "Coach in Waiting?" before Lane moves on?

this looks better than a HS coach:

Tennessee:
Sources tell us that Head Coach Lane Kiffin will interview Tom Rathman, the former NFL Running Back/San Francisco 49ers Running Backs coach.  Also,
Kiffin is very interested in Todd McNair (USC Running Backs/Special Teams Coordinator), Frank Gansz Jr. (UCLA Special Teams Coordinator), Clay Helton
(Former Memphis Offensive Coordinator), Jay Graham (South Carolina Running Backs Coach), Brian Schneider (USC Special Teams Coordinator) and
Matt Lubick (Arizona State Wide Receivers Coach).
