We're on the rise Knowledge with one of the best defenses in the conference and an offense on the verge of breaking out.

If going to Birmingham for your bowl is "on the rise" I damn sure would hate to see what your  "down cycle" looks like. Lets see, finishing 10th in the SEC and your "on the rise". Yet, the Gators finish 2nd and they are "broke & busted". Those statements just reek of drug induced thought process. Dude, you might want to seek help. Try www.sheepondrogs,org. Maybe they can help.

Check your history.   There is no where to go but up.

You are absolutely correct Knowledge and I have agreed with this statement hundreds of times on this site.

Check out the current SEC standings and you can confirm parity is king and mediocrity is rampant.  In the East, 5 teams could be legitimate contenders next season.

SEC StandingsEAST CONF OVERALL
Florida                      8-0      12-1
Georgia                    4-4        7-5
Tennessee               4-4        7-5
Kentucky                 3-5        7-5
South Carolina         3-5        7-5
Vanderbilt                0-8        2-10

I hate to agree with Tripod but if you think going to a bowl in a partially dismantled Legion Field and having a 3-5 record in the SEC is "on the rise", then maybe y'all better rethink your priorities.

Of course, what do you expect from a football program that has become a 401k plan for retired coaches over the past 10 years (first Holtz and now Spurrier).

Knowledge...I am not referring going to Birmingham as an accomplishment but it is clear that our 2008 team that went to the Outback Bowl was alot worse than the 2009 team headed to the Papa Johns Bowl.  Going into this season, our team was very young and inexperienced with question marks at QB (Smelley left and Garcia was terrible), Defensive secondary (Munnerlyn starts for the Panthers and Emanuel Cooke left), wide receiver (Kenny McKinely is playing for the Broncos), linebacker (Jasper Brinkley plays for Minnesota).  From 2008 to 2009, the team improved greatly and young guys like Garcia, Gilmore, Saunders, Geathers, Holloman, Gurley, Giles, Miles, and Jeffrey that made the plays will be back for 2 to 3 more seasons.  They are good players with great attitudes and that is why they should keep improving and make noise in the conference next season.

What is your outlook for UT in 2010?
