Coach Fulmer could have been just as good as Skippy in recruiting for one year, if that was all he did.  Coach Fulmer didn't have 3-4 family members wiping his butt.

Fulmer didn't need family members to wipe his butt...he had you to polish that azz everyday...   Hell, you are still wiping that azz.

Coach Fulmer sat up there with Mike Hamilton.  What did your boy, Skippy, do?

Time to bring Fulmer back in the fold in some non coaching capacity to stableize the ship.  Also time to get dirty and report all the dirt you have on Lane and make USCw have the same problems he caused you.  Have to win the national PR battle against these sharks IMHO.

Fulmer didn't have family members wiping his butt  (maybe Vicki to keep the media  in line) but much of Fulmer's appeal as HC was the same as Kiffins.  Fulmer could keep the staff that was there together.  When he had to navigate his way through coaching changes to his staff, he folded like a cheap tent.  Time will tell us about Kiffin.  I still dont know what to make of him.  Mike Garrett struck gold in Pete Carroll, but he also hired Paul Hackett AFTER he murdered Pitt football.  I dont mind Lane leaving without facing the music.  Fans can be crazy when they get RichRodded.

You think bringing Fulmer back will bring stability? Crazy.
fulmer had run this thing into the ground.

Coaching is NOT rocket science. It is hard work and discipline. No question Laney had the hard work part down. I promise you a college coach will outwork an NFL coach everyday.

Yes, I think it would.  Hamilton has wrecked the football program and I agree with Knowledge, Hamilton may not be able to hire a good coach.  I said hire him in a non coaching position and my idea would be to put him in front of the cameras and let him talk about the greatness of Tennessee.  IMO, it would help give recruits confidence and start the recovery.  Whether you like it or not, when people think of UT football, they think of Phil Fulmer as the figure head.  He has been in everyones living room for years wearing a  .

But we all know Hamilton would not do this.  UT is his now.

Hamilton is a dead AD walking. As soon as UT hires a new President, the first action he will do publicly is to fire Hammy...guaranteed.

Fulmer has his shot and the only way he EVER comes back to UT is as AD.

Hamilton's Legacy at UT is this unbelieveable event.  He will never recover and should not make the next hire.  Kiffin ought to put him on his staff at USC.  He owns Hamilton.

Gray you can pigeonhole me where you want because of your prejudice, but I had nothing against the guys hire until he hired Ogeron... By Golly I was right... I wanted somebody with real  HC experience. I pointed out that Ogeron has had NCAA problems at every stop he has been at...

I am sorry NCAA problems are unaccaeptable..

Call Fulmer all the snarky names you want but he ran a squeaky-clean recruiting program. So does Spurrier, for that matter.  That's why the two of them could turn in Alabama for running an annual slave auction in Memphis and make it stick.

Bammers can hate on Fulmer all they want, but STEVE SPURRIER wrote the letter to the NCAA that blew the lid off what Lynn Lang and the boys were doing.  I always thought their jones for CPF was one of the funnier aspects of the resulting NCAA sanctions since it was SOS who blew the whistle. Of course, CPF was regularly beating the hell out their Crimson a**es at the time.
