Part of the Friday night news dump...John Yoo did not commit a crime or violate any ethic rule in drafting the memorandums of law which outlined the Presidential authority inherit in the Constitution...the left must be up in arms.

Good for you John Yoo!  We all owe Mr. Yoo a big thank you for standing up for the Constitution and the Executive Branch and saving American lives.

I hope you're joking but probably not. This is the man who said its fine to crush a kids testicles if necessary. A true scumbag and soulless contemptible human being for providing legal cover for torture and the destruction of the high ideals this country at one time aspired to. It gives me great pleasure he cannot publish the room number where he teaches because of the constant threat of protests.

BTW the career guys concluded they should not practice law again. The gutless political hacks decided to cover for their acts and concluded Yoo and federeal judge Bybee were just stupid and/or incompetent hacks who provided stunningly bad legal advice.

So that's what it comes down to. Evil renamed incompetence. What a picture of the entire Bush administration.

I went to the Stations of the Cross at Church last night and came away wondering how any Christian can justify torturing our enemies after what Jesus was put through!

It is strange that the so-called "good christian" republicans think so highly of the selfishness and greed of an avowed atheist? Ayn Rand???

Good Christian? Bwa-hahahahahaha!

I guess you still advocate torturing and killing innocent babies though.

NCVol,

Actually it was the other way around...the career guy said no Yoo didn't do anything wrong...it was the Obama appointees that wanted this guys head.

No one has said that he should no longer practice law...quite the opposite the report says there should be no disciplinary action against him including losing his law license.

Plus I want a direct quote from Yoo that said it is OK to smash a kid's testicles and point me to a direct source where that has happened.

You should renounce your US citizenship since you hate this country so much.

This is the kind of people Holder has hired into the Justice Department since his appointment

http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/opinion/blogs/beltway-confidential/Holder-admits-nine-Obama-Dept-of-Justice-officials-worked-for-terrorist-detainees-offers-no-details-84799487.html

"Attorney General Eric Holder says nine Obama appointees in the Justice Department have represented or advocated for terrorist detainees before joining the Justice Department."

A direct conflict of interest but I am sure Holder will ensure that these 9 are properly shielded from any terrorist prosecution.

Sen. McCain was right and the National Review Online is wrong. Politifact, the St. Petersburg Times' truth-testing project (which this week was awarded a Pulitzer Prize), scrutinized Sen. McCain's statement and found it to be true. Here's the money quote from Politifact:

"McCain is referencing the Tokyo Trials, officially known as the International Military Tribunal for the Far East. After World War II, an international coalition convened to prosecute Japanese soldiers charged with torture. At the top of the list of techniques was water-based interrogation, known variously then as 'water cure,' 'water torture' and 'waterboarding,' according to the charging documents. It simulates drowning." Politifact went on to report, "A number of the Japanese soldiers convicted by American judges were hanged, while others received lengthy prison sentences or time in labor camps."

To bad dickie th draft dodger and all his war criminal buddies are getting off scot-free....this is a new low for justice in this country!
