The song was written in response to a trip Cross International organized to help American Christians better understand the impact of poverty overseas. On her trip, Jennifer discovered that pastors working in places like Haiti, Latin America, Africa and the Philippines are eager to supply food to the hungry, clothes to the naked, medi-cines to the sick and shelter for the homeless – they simply lack the food and other resources they need to get the job done. By supporting these church leaders with shipments of food, medicines, clothing and more, we can help them respond to the most urgent needs among the poor, building faith among suffering people who have lost all other hope.
