Actually winning in the NCAA tournament is best if you plan on making it to the 8.  Maybe you should tell Coach Dreamsicle RickVawls.

My point is, calling a conference with 3 #1 years removed from being a factor is a stupid statement.  I guess the conference represented by the NCAA champ is the only conference that will be a factor.

Who cares?  Making the round of 8 = Not a factor.

You're the one always claiming 'hardware.' Well, I don't see too damn much.

Did they get #1 seed trophies?

Yes, HeyMongoloid ... you have a better path from a 6. The first two are slightly tougher, but the 3rd is made easier.

RinT you are correct. I wish TN would drop to a 6 myself....

I think UT will be a 4 seed but I don't think it matters if they are a 3, 4, 5, or 6. They want no part of the #1 or #2 seeds if they get to the Sweet 16 and since they have already played Kansas and Kentucky they would either be in Syracuse of Duke's bracket. UT would match up best with Duke but the huge difference in fundamentals and basketball IQ would be too much for UT to handle imo. The 2 seeds are probably going to be Ohio St, Purdue, West Virginia, and Kansas St. Of those I can't see UT beating any of them other than perhaps Purdue since Hummel is injured. All of those team play much harder and are mentally stronger than UT .

Shoneys, this team doesn't do fundamentals.

Not many do. The days of white boys in nut cutters holding the ball for 3 minutes at a time in the half court set are thankfully gone.

The difference in UT and the above mentioned teams are talent level, pure and simple.

Say what? Pure absurdity. You might want to check out some of the recruiting rankings of players at Syracuse, Kansas St, West Virginia, and Purdue then. Work ethic and desire have much to do with improvement of 18-22 years old and yes the #1 and #2 seed teams definitely have more of that.

Insane. UT is FAR away from the talent pool of the above mentioned teams. My God, Pearl is out there bringing in juco talent to fill a roster.

Hey8u - how does it feel to get kicked to the NIT curb for the 3rd year in a row? And at the hands of Tubby Smith to beat it all!!!!
