But you know Roy will bounce back.  He's too good of a recruiter not to.   If Bruce wins 2 NCAA tourneys in the next 4 years, I'd say you won't mind .500 for a year either.

Of course I wouldn't. The difference is I don't expect Pearl to be contending on the same level right now. That is fastly changing with higher level recruits starting to arrive in Knoxville, but still. What Pearl has done with what he's had to work with is incredible. I'd love to see Roy or cal play Steven Pearl for 20 minutes and get it done.

I doubt Pearl will have many .500 years.
He as won more than 20 every season he has ever coached except for
maybe one. He will get it done in the tourney soon imo.

RickTnVols is branging it!

If you call 3rd in the East getting it done.  And Steven Pearl isn't playing anywhere close to 20 minutes a game.  Besides, its not like he has to play Steven Pearl.  He has other options.

My bad. Over the last 4 games he's only averaged 18.25 minutes. I'm not bashing Steve Pearl, mind you. He's the hardest worker on the floor.

More with less and getting the job done. You talkin' bout division standings again? That same division that went 24-0 against the west from slots 1-4?

Maybe because teams don't play a #1 and #2 on their home court that often, but wins against top 5 teams at home happens all the time.

OK.   Name all of the teams that beat two top 5 teams this year (home or away).

I don't know exactly.  I can think of 3 others off the top of my head.

Louisville has 2 wins over Syracuse.
Wisconsin beat Duke, Purdue, and Michigan State (all were in the top 5 at the time)
Pitt beat Syracuse, WVU, Nova when all of those teams were in the top 5.

So, you come up with 3 examples and:

--One involves beating the same team twice. (Louisville)
--One involves beating two teams who are no longer in the top 5 and may not have been top 5 at the time they were beaten (Wisconsin)
--And the other example is of a team beating 3 teams who are no longer top 5 (Pitt)

Not exactly meeting the definition of "happens all the time" now is it?

Add Georgetown to the list.

Obviously the selection comittee wasn't swayed by your victories over #1 and #2.

And obviously the NIT wasn't swooned by Leroy.
