You boyz ever been there? It's a cold, dirty town, especially in the winter when the snow comes down in big, downy flakes and the visibility is reduced to 200' feet or less. I cain't think of anybody who'd want to go...

I pushed a Pipe Utility Crew in Boston MA in the Bay area in the early 90's? Does that qualify?

Word is that the Providence Chamber of Commerce called UT's Sports Information Office inquiring about expected attendance at the game and to provide info regarding local motels, restaurants, etc.   UT said that they could expect about 100 people from UT's official traveling party and that they would be staying in a 5* hotel and dining in some of the finer Italian establishments.  In addition, there would be roughly 200 other fans that refer to themselves as the "Common Fan" that would be staying at a Motel 6 equivalent and would be dining at buffet bars such as Ryans and Golden Corall.

As I said earlier, "I cain't think of anybody who'd want to go." If I was in the official party, then maybe. I'd have to have a lot of confidence in the UT plane's pilot...

I love the SPS geography/travel threads.  I guess Kiffin's Buffet Director will cry "landfill."

New York City is a nice place to stop over on the way.

I have not been to Providence, but I have been to Mystic Connecticut and Westerly Rhode Island--both on the Long Island Sound or Block Island Sound facing Long Island.  Westerly is nice.  A lot of those little towns in NE run together after a while.  We ate at a nice restaurant on the sound.  We also went out to Watch Hill which is South of Westerly.  There is a light house and a Naval Operation there.  There were some enormous old homes at Watch Hill that sat with little vegetation around them.  They were summer homes.  My friend assured me they were cottages compared to the estates in Newport.  Gollleee.  Hey, I am from Tennessee.

NE is a beautiful place to visit in the spring or fall.  We stayed at the Saxons River Inn in Vermont one fall with the same friends.  It was beautiful.

"USC is an extremely powerful place."--Skippy Kiffin

"Basilio hitched his wagon to these ultra negative callers and that is why his shows don't do that well."--Ron

DANGERVOL summed [Basilio] up:
"The greatest quote in Knoxville radio history [was] when Kiffin was hired.  Hyams was interviewing Pete Carroll - Basilio was talking to W. Lynn and Small Mike. Absolutely classic!"

No Sky you see this is sports related since UT is playing in Providence, RI for the once-a-year NCAA tournament.
That is a big difference from the stalk radio threads you start daily that have no sports relation
other than to "hear yourself type" and show how much space radio personalities own in you weak little mind.
