I think Steele is a good kid and I wish TN had room for him on its roster. He has a really sweet outside shot(Better than Hops) and he plays defense and HUSTLES!! I know we have bigger fish to fry as in next years guard class, BUT!!

I wish him the best. I was talking to SPS's old friend Bob Fisher and the Fulton family is excited for him. Auburn was a good fit, but he can play competitive SEC BB as Miss St.

Best wishes. He simply is not as good as the kids Tenn has or are recruiting. As a basketball school you cannot take any local kid because he is an alright player. Jalen does not have the explosiveness to compete with the kids they are recruiting. His shot is not as good as the guards they have. Good luck to him.

How well did he perform in the RTL?

Did UT even take a look at the guy?

I did. He is a nice player. May even develop into a very good player. Look at him physically and than the others that are highly ranked. They look different. Watch them play. Steele is not as explosive. He may look that way against the poor white boys of Catholic but he is not. He is a project at a high level and sometimes they turn out. The kids that Tenn is in on are not projects.

I think alot of people automatically assume that Steele would have jumped at a UT offer, although i've never heard him comment about the Vols at all, so i'm not sure how he felt about them.   I do think CBP wanted to honor the scholly that he promised to Skylar McBee, and he may even have felt that Josh Bone deserved a scholly as well, before he went to offering Jalen Steele one.   There's obviously only so many scholarships to go around, and the Vols currently have, and will have alot more, of guards with them already.

We will.

Jalen needs to be a PG. He is not fast or quick enough. He cannot be an off guard because he does not shoot well enough. Jalen is going to an SEC school where he will play good basketball and get an edumacation if he wants one. Nothing wrong with that. However, he cannot carry Skylar's shoes and you will see as their career plays out.

Good Luck to you Jalen and thanks for being part of the SPS board

You can never have too many shooters. UT will regret letting this one get away.

I remember Elston Turner, damn he would have looked good in Orange. Every time I see Steele I think of Turner.  Where is his nephew transferring to?

I just hope Steele does not become another Humphrey or Turner as far as UT Basketball. Those two were the scariest dudes to ever play TN from another program, both local boyz.......
