What says you? I would just release him. I do think it is in his best interest to get far away? I was told he was looking at MTSU, why would I care if he went there? But that is just a rumor floating around he could be wanting to transfer anywhere. The talk of Duke is not realistic I was told he is not a qualifier to be accepted. I could see him at North Carolina, but would that program take a chance on him?

Aaron Douglas quit on his state, he quit on the University of Tennessee, he quit on the program and more importantly, he quit on his teammates.     Dooley doesn't owe him anything.

Wasn't UNC one of the schools he was considering when he chose UT?

I've heard rumors about his situation and personal life. If he feels he needs to get away to straighten up, then I'm all for it. It's hard for me to see how someone with so much talent and has good parents can get caught up in some questionable behavior.

I think Dooley implimenting the 8-hour distance is a little steep. But I think that's Dooley's way of saying go up north or go out west. But it's a another bad P.R. situation for Dooley.

It may sound hardline, but i'm with you completely on this.  The guy appears to be selfish and a me first guy.   If getting away from his home area was so critical, then he should have done so from the beginning.  It's not as if Douglas was some sort of benchwarmer, he was a player that had developed to the point, that his teammates were counting on him being around to help their team move forward.   It's almost like he told all his teammates and friends, do it yourself i'm out of here.

He quit. He doesn't want to be at UT so let him move on. I didn't realize so many here have never quit a job and moved on to something different.

Obviously some people do not understand being a part of a team and having loyalty to the team.

In addition to that, there are rules and Dooley can set the parameters as to how he wants to give a release.   Douglas can transfer wherever he wants to, he will just have to pay for one year of his schooling if he wants to go to a school within 8 hours of Knoxville.

At any rate, the UT football program needs real Volunteers and it's good to find out what Douglas and Bryce Brown are really about in the spring instead of having them quit on their teammates in the fall.

Brown's deal is a little different in that he supposedly wants to play with his brother. Then again, I think he got sold a bill of goods by Kiffin and Dooley doesn't play that game.

Contrary to Jacobi's opinion, Its not (nor should it ever be) about how far mommy and daddy now have to drive to see him on the field. -Send him packing!
