Wow! This is sad. How can you call it quits after 40 years? I am truly shocked. In the middle of all that blue dress stain sex mess with Bubba Clinton and Hillary's kook claim that a vast right wing conspiracy setup President Clinton to fall into the sexual clutches of a college coed intern while ensconsed in the Oval Office eating pizza, the Gore's were a seemingly refreshing constant of fidelity and love. Now comes word of their breakup. How do you explIn it all? They both went to the finest Prep Schools money could by and they both had an Ivy League educations with parents so rich they could not spend all their money if they tried. Gore's senator father hooked up with Armond Hammer and was instantly made a multi-millionaire gentlman father thanks to Zinc. Gore was even driven daily as a boy from the family apartment at the DC Ritz Carloton to prep school in a congressional limo. This couple has had every privildge and confort known to man. The Gore's are so rich now they are thought to be billionaires, especially with their investment in the nascent carbon credit one world exchange market. Incredible!!! They have everthing but each other.

I think that 2000 election and that butterfly ballot pushed Gore over the edge to the point he simply became unbearable to be around. This rabid environmental kick he has been on is a tad bit extreme after that 2000 defeat settled by the High Court.  I certainly was fooled by the public solidarity the Gore's displayed. There goes my discernment index score . I never agreed one lick with their politics since he gave up his pro-life beliefs but I always admired and appreciated their devotion to each other. To tell you the truth however I always admired his mother the most. Her life story was one of incredible endurance and moxie. NO WAY Albert Sr. and Albert Jr. reach the political high points without her behind them providing the wherewithall and support. This just goes to show politics is a hard bidness.

It is sad to see.  It's always sad when marriages break up.  Not much to add other than that.  I respect those who do the hard work to make marriages last.

I agree NC, this is very sad to see... However where there is life there is hope, where there us faith all things are possible, and there is a chance in the future that these two may mend their hearts and heal their relationship. They should be in our prayers.

JW, Al is no longer simply dealing in politics, he has reached celebrity status, so that too adds to the stress, when is the last time any of us really heard anything from Tipper? I haven't since that big kiss. I actually like her, admire her, and hope she is doing well. It does seem the deeper Algore went into his insane hunt for manbearpig, the more she has removed herself from public life.

FL once again you have added valuable input to the conversation, we are all blessed by your brilliant rhetoric, unmatched verbalisms, and sharp witticisms....your intelect is astounding, thank you.

Maybe his ego got way too big.

Tipper is a long time advocate for mental health issues. Maybe she got tired of having to do work at home?

Seriously, when our society has as many problems as it does with marriage and family, then society overall has problems.

I hate to see anyone get divorced or separated. One big reason is because it seems to always affect more than just the couple having the problems.

Glad to know that Bush can also be blamed for the Gore's marital problems:

The lack of reading (or listening) comprehension skills manifests itself on the far right once again.

Nowhere, I repeat nowhere, does the article "blame" Bush for the Gore's breakup. The article said the 2000 election loss (which is a different issue than Bush) contributed to their marital problems. Contributing to a problem is NOT the same thing as blaming the problem on Bush.

The entire world is supporting the Palestinians for this unprovoked and unwarranted attack by Israel. Thank goodness.

You are entitled to your opinion, but not to your choice of facts.

So if it's a FACT, why not be allowed to choose it? It seems that if it is not a FACT it is an opinion....a fact is something that is TRUE and unchanging, and an OPINION is something that is believed, but cannot be true and can be changed, the FACT cannot be wrong, but the OPINION can....It's more important to have facts than to have an opinion...ones opinion about facts could be wrong, but facts are facts, in the end that statement alone highlights the fact that to liberals a fact and an opinion are interchangeable.

This is the problem with subjective versus objective reality. TRUTH and FACT stand outside our beliefs, Facts can change our beliefs...but our beliefs cannot EVER change facts.

IF something is a FACT you are wise to choose to believe it, facts will never fail you, while your opinion often times, especially when not grounded in facts, can and will fail you.

FL less than three digit IQ is manifesting itself once again, it is amazing that the more he TRIES to come of as knowledgeable and wise, the more he shows us actually what he is.

Sas,

Do you honestly think that, outside the fundamentalist right in the USA and, of course, Israel, the majority of the world supports what Israel did?
