Is this some kind of sick liberal joke? Has the liberal educational establishment so destroyed classical education in this country that people are actually buying this rot. No question BP should be made to fork over damages for the horrific damages they have wrought despite the administration giving them safety regulation awards months before this inexplicable explosion that claimed the life of 11. However do you want to put people like Barry Obama, Nancy Pelosi, Barney Frank, and Henry Waxman over the money? Think on ththat one for a moment.

And yet ANOTHER feckless thread started by a man who has no life whatsoever.

Just Wind,

When was the last time you got laid? Apparently, judging by your pent up anger, and the amount of time you spend on this board with your daily diatribes, it's been a while.

Find a good woman (assuming you're heterosexual, which is not a given) and get a life.

It's an escrow fund.  It's going to be administered by the same guy who administered the 9/11 relief fund and several other high profile events dealing with 10s of thousands of claimants.  Who SHOULD oversee this fund if not this person?

You can pick your group or person.  Who should administer the payment of the claims filed by people whose lives have been destroyed by the actions of BP and Halliburton and Transocean?

Under the agreement, BP will set up an independently operated fund to cover the costs of cleaning up the spill and paying damages to individuals and businesses hurt by the disaster. The fund will be managed by Washington attorney Kenneth Feinberg, who has gained fame as the Treasury's "pay czar" after Wall Street's near meltdown in 2008 and as the overseer of payments to families of victims after the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

You're right, JW, no need for a company that caused the losses to pay the losses.  Taxpayers should simply foot the bill for them and put them on Medicaid.  I'm sure the state governments of Louisiana and Texas and Florida and Mississippi and Alabama have all kinds of money to pay the health care costs for those thrown out of work and lost their businesses and their livelihoods.

Makes sense from the corporate lapdogs to want to shift those costs to taxpayers!  Privatize the profits, socialize the losses.  Given the option between holding private businesses accountable or letting taxpayers pay the bills, the corporate party (including a bunch of democrats) EXIST to make the "socialize losses" decision.

Privatize the profits, socialize the losses.  It is how our system works these days.  It's a beautiful system for the oligarchs.  Glad you're sticking up for them!
