Law to the proud, Grace to the humble.

« on: July 21, 2010, 11:18:06 AM »

IF you are a Christian why would you not support a biblical Christian theocracy? Just which biblical Christian principals do you hate?

Most of us would agree that the basis for ANY legal system all stems from the oldest and best, the 10 commandments. Now we all know that these commandments were not only intended for the Jewish people as a guide to how they should live their lives under their covenant with the LORD, but also a moral blueprint, a mirror for us to look into and see exactly how close to God’s standards we actually are, and how far we fall short of what and who he wants us to be. Remember “Christians” Jesus said he did not come to destroy the law, but to fulfill it, to uphold it, and to exemplify it.
The 10 commandments can be summed up by what Christ said in Mathew 22 when asked which of the commandments was the greatest, and he replied

" 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments" (Matthew 22:36-40).

If we examine this statement in light of the 10 commandments we learn this the first part encompasses the first four commandments, I paraphrase; 1. You shall have no other God before me. 2. You shall not worship an idol. 3. You shall not Blaspheme. 4. Remember the Sabbath  and keep it Holy.  All these are summed up by “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.”

If we look at the six others, again I paraphrase; 5. Honor your parents. 6. You shall not Murder. 7. You shall not commit Adultery. 8. You shall not steal. 9. You shall not lie. And 10. You shall not covet. All these are embodied by “Love your neighbor as yourself.” If you love someone, rather than simply being selfish, you would not cause your parents undue shame or sorrow, you will not steal from others, you would not have intimate relations with anyone other than your spouse, or cause someone to have a relation other than with their spouse, you would not steal from others, lie to them, or desire the things they have and be envious and jealous, you would be happy for them and desire good things for them and all others, you would LOVE them.

Now this really comes down to the real issue why liberals in general are so “scared” of a Christian Theocracy...and why nearly 100% of atheists, and homosexuals are liberals and socialists. Let us examine just a few of these loving commandments from God’s and their aspects as a legal system and not simply a system of personal reflection, to help us see how we measure up to God’s standards and his will and desire for our lives and who we SHOULD strive to be. We will examine the last part as these are the laws that deal with how we live with our neighbors and the type of lives we should lead together, we will start at the crimes you might consider more offensive than the rest, and work our way to the crimes you might not consider that bad;

You shall not murder – This would directly END the practice of abortion, one of the biggest arguing points for liberals… Under God’s law, the dignity and value of the human being would be upheld and those who argue that abortion is all about freedom and choice would find themselves “enslaved” with the only choices being not to have sex, to give up their unwanted children for adoption, keeping their child raising them and making loving sacrifices in order to give that child the life and dignity it deserves. This desire is rooted more in the “lifestyle” of individuals and the ability to place the value of their own lives and pleasures above those of others, it is a desire of selfishness which is at the root of all sin.
Acknowledging that all murder is 100% wrong would mean that anyone who lies in a capital case would themselves be subject to the same punishment, as if you lie and someone dies as a direct result of that lie YOU have committed murder, if the person did not die it would still be attempted murder.
Also if an officer of “the Law” was guilty of lying or falsifying evidence to convict someone of a capitol crime that officer would too be guilty of attempted murder and thus subject to the same punishment…for the act of murder he has committed.
God’s laws hold us each equally accountable for our actions, it ensures too that justice itself is as culpable to uphold its own laws as the people subject to justice itself.
God wants us to respect and protect life that he has created, especially innocent life, and if we do not justly punish the wicked we are punishing the innocent who becomes future victims of those repeat offenders who live to murder another day. This is one statistic that cannot be refuted no murder who was ever put to death ever became a repeat offender…capital punishment is 100% effective in stopping capital recidivism.

You shall not commit adultery – despite the acceptance today in American culture that adultery is okay, the fact is that it is not, it’s wrong, and it’s destructive and it is probably the most harmful and destructive thing happening in America today. If you turn on television every show you watch from family channels to premium channels will in fact have one instance of adultery, all of them….in a mere 40 years we have gone from having Married couples sleeping in different beds on television to strangers hooking up, and unmarried people living together and sex being the biggest motivating force in American culture today. So many people consider their sexual escapades as a liberating experience, a rite of passage, or the reason they live. They do not care about their “partners” for the most part it’s all based on self gratification and instant satisfaction. This one sin is probably the most committed sin today, it’s brazenly talked about…it’s openly practiced, and for the most part, despite the fact that it is the ruination of most people’s lives today, many cling to the false belief that it is not wrong, it’s no one else’s business, and it’s once again a matter of personal preference.
This crime, is the one that underscores every other argument liberals have for the most part, it’s the desire to hold onto their own loved sins, the selfish gratification, and self justification that leads them to desire and support the even worse crime of MURDER - abortion is condoned because it allows people to commit adultery without being “punished with a child”.  This law directly confronts homosexuality, rape, incest, and loose living lifestyles that is so strong in our culture today.

You shall not steal – This would directly remove the government’s ability to redistribute wealth, as it acknowledges the right to own property, to pay wages for labor, to gain wealth by honest efforts and sacrificial investments and to protect your property and investments. Stealing is another instance of pure selfishness, someone desires what others have and takes it without earning it asking for it or being given it….because they see their desire to take it as superseding someone else’s right to own it.
It is the cornerstone of capitalism and a death strike to the head of the socialist serpent. Liberals love to take what they do not own and have not earned and give it to others, most of the time taking a finder’s fee for their “hard work” and efforts.
At the same time this does nothing to end the Christian practice of charity and brotherhood, of giving freely to the poor and sick and afflicted, and being the stewards and givers God wants us to be.

You shall not lie. This would mean that 99.9% of our politicians, teachers, car salesmen, and media personnel would be out of a job. It would no longer be possible to argue that some lies are good, while others are bad, or base an argument on the concept that an answer depends on what the definition of “is” is. If someone lied in civil criminal, or capital case, they would be in equivalent of committing those crimes themselves and subject to the same punishments for that act. Lying is all about protecting one’s self, even if we lie to ourselves and say we are lying to protect others, what we fear is not hurting them, but rather facing the results of what that hurt means for others as they relate to us., or how we feel ourselves about what others feel.

You shall not Covet – This is a direct argument against the “wealth envy” that is so pervasive in the liberal mindset. It would end the reason people steal, cheat, and many times hate others…because they are jealous of what others have and desire it for themselves (selfishness). This could not be a theocratic law, but it is a concept that can be used to show motive in any criminal case…in fact it is the root reason why MOST crimes are indeed committed…because someone else has something you desire.

Honor you Mother and Father – This is something that also encompasses all other commandments, if you fail to do the others, you have in fact dishonored your parents, through which God gave you life, and thus you dishonor God as well, even if you have ungodly parents. The fact is this commandment is another one a theocracy could not enforce, bur parents should, especially Christian parents, your children should be brought up in ways that not only honor you, but also God, they should be respecters of others, kind, generous, and all the things Christ wants them to be.

These are not BAD laws…there is NOTHING bad or wrong with these commandments, aside from the fact that we are bad and we are wrong, and we cannot keep them. These are all the things EVERY Christian should aspire to, to love, to cherish and hold onto. Why? Because these are the laws that Christ himself embodies, and IF you hate them you cannot LOVE CHRIST, nor can you LOVE your neighbors as you do yourself. There is no argument a TRUE Christian can make against the 10 commandments…in fact it its those that which convict us of our sin, our guilt, and teach us we need a savior to begin with, otherwise, if we condemn them, we are judging God, convicting him, and trying to claim that our view of justice, of what is right or wrong is somehow better, more divine, and more just than the ultimate just divine and holy one of all, we become Satan, the accuser..we become the anti-Christ, and we become an Anathema to  the Holiness and Glory of God.

Now if we take this aspect of Christ’s self, the FACT that he is the embodiment of the 10 commandments, of the very WORD of God itself, we can then understand the other aspects of Christ’s person. His love, his kindness, his generosity, his grace, his mercy, his understanding, and all the other wonderful things he is. We can understand that a TRUE biblical Christian Theocracy is not a bad thing in and of itself, as long as it is based on Christ’s will and not Man’s will. As long as it is placed upon HIS laws and not our laws, and as long as it is based upon his love mercy and kindness and not ours. One day this will in fact be what we all will live under…not just a theocracy but a monarchy with Christ, God, as our TRUE LORD, in more than simply in spirit. So if the question is do I desire a true biblical Christian theocracy, then I would most emphatically scream YES!! As long as that governance is the governance of Christ, and HIM alone. Do I want one today? Sure, IF Christ came to rule today. I do not however want some humanistic warped perverted system (huh much like what we have right now) based on mans ungodly loves and desires rather than God’s Holy and righteous ones.

They are scared of a Christian theocracy because they've met some Christians.

Christians need to begin living worthy of their calling. Many if not most Christians are living contrary to the will of God, and if a 'theocracy' were formed, I'd bet many of these Christians would rebel against it. You simply can not and will not have a Christian theocracy. Faith coerced is not faith. Further, it is totally contradictory to the will of God. God had a theocracy called Israel. He will reinstate this theocracy during the millenial reign.

in quoting the commandments you must also acknowledge the harsh realities that came with violating them. The church age says that most vile, wretched sinner can come in faith, and be made right in the standing of God.

My thoughts exactly I am thinking of a part 2 that stresses that the real reason a theocracy would not work right now is mostly because of many Christians....

If we really look at the problems in our world it is not a rule problem. It is a heart problem. There is a spirit of rebellion at work, and the evidence of it is profound. Just talk to someone about submitting themselves and see the reactions. These are dangerous times. People will hurt and kill with the slightest provocation. There is blatant rebellion among our youth. People admire heinous things. I could go on, but why bother.

The problem with a Theocracy is always in the details.....

I know that many Protestant Christians consider RC as unsaved and not part of the Chosen Flock. They feel thay have to evangalize as a requirement to practice their faith. Over the years they have used civil rule as a tool to evangalize, in the early days of America voting at town meetings required church membership. In the current enviroment LDS are considered a "cult" and not Christian by many religions. Like I said the problem is always in the details.

Example prayer in school, what prayers? Scripture in school which Bible?  Details Details Details!

Actually PV you are pretty wrong there, protestants do not feel anyone has to do any works as a requirement of faith, the thing is there are works that Christ tells us to do because we are saved, not that each should do all, but each should do as God has burdened them to do. If a saved person is gifted with the ability and calling to evangelize then that is where they should follow their calling, some however may be called to simply share the gospel and evangelize by the way they live their life.
As to cults like JWs and LDS the thing is, these people themselves acknowledge they are different faith when pressed on the biblical issues of TRUE biblical Christianity. It is only when they seek acceptance in the arena of ideas in an effort to give you reason to listen, that they use this argument. Then when you are lulled into a false sense of brotherhood, they subjugate the scriptures and add to it, in an attempt to draw you from God, just as Satan did in the garden, just as he has done through out time, the first task is to add to what God says, and then deny exactly what God did say.

As for payer in school, I do not think ANY prayer should be mandated...however all prayer should be protected.... in other words, laws are there to protect the right of people to pray..not keep people from hearing others pray. Freedom OF faith, not freedom FROM it. It is as simple as this, even though the Government SHOULD not be allowed to tell people what they MUST do in their faith...they cannot tell them they must have no faith, and as long as that faith does not break other laws, in other words depriving people of their liberty, teaching people to steal, incest, rape, slavery, or kill, then the government has no power over it.
