FWIW, I don't support requiring someone to accept homosexuality.  Or to counsel people they despise and think they can "cure" of being a homosexual.  Seriously.  I think the woman should be allowed to finish her studies, and she can work for an appropriately gay hating counseling group with "Homosexuals Not Welcome" on their Yellow Pages ad, and that's as it should be.

A little more seriously, it is a matter of conscience and principles and it's a mistake, IMO, to force someone to PRETEND that they hold different views than they actually do.  The only way I can see expulsion as an appropriate remedy is if it's impossible to complete the coursework without working with homosexuals.

I do NOT believe she should be allowed to counsel people under the University's seal of approval that they can BE straight, if they just try harder and don't look at the same sex, but lust after the opposite sex, as nature intended....  The evidence, nearly all of it, demonstrates without any doubt that is a path for near certain FAILURE for a person struggling with homosexuality.  But hey, out there in the real world, as long as she warns her clients that for her, evidence takes a back seat to dogmatically held beliefs, let her counsel!

why can't she counsel them on whatever she wants?
it's similar to Planned Parenthood keeping pregnant women from receiving counseling on the horrors of abortion.

It is strange that the so-called "good christian" republicans think so highly of the selfishness and greed of an avowed atheist? Ayn Rand???

Good Christian? Bwa-hahahahahaha!

Since you're a republican, I wouldn't expect you to care about evidence, but the evidence is people can't be changed from gay to straight.  It's just a fact.  A FEW can, and some can be convinced to abstain from homosexual SEX, but they're not changed into straight people, with few exceptions.

Since the college is presumably teaching a curriculum based on evidence, they shouldn't allow their students to counsel the university's patients using a proven failed philosophy that the patients need to try harder and it will all be OK, they'll become straight, just like nature intended.

Yippee for magic thinking!!!!  "Choose" to like girls just like you "chose" to be a homosexual!!!

Now, once she gets out in the real world, as I said, as long as she lets her clients know she despises gay people and thinks they "chose" to be condemned and despised by bigots like you, then I'm all for self hating homosexuals to choose her as their counselor.  It's a free world, and maybe they'll feel better having their self hate reinforced by their counselor.  People is weird.

Point is the college has an obligation to counsel based on evidence.  Once she leaves the college, she's under no such obligation.
