They are the arguments that kings have made for enslaving the people in all ages of the world. You will find that all the arguments in favor of king-craft were of this class; they always bestrode the necks of the people, not that they wanted to do it, but because the people were better off for being ridden. - A. Lincoln

Interesting OMG. Check out the thread link below with a similar story. Apparently the president has become a political leopard with in his own party. Mark my words, that war in Afghanistan is tearing his Party apart. You are not hearing much about this but my liberal friends (yes I have some) are STEAMING mad about the Afghan war. It is going to tear the Democrat Party in two in the end. That is why they disposed of General Stanley Allen McChrystal in such a shabby way a month ago. Don't get me wrong, I think the president was forced to take this action but I wonder if it was not made to happen because the president knew he had to pick up the progress in the Afghan campaign.

More evidence the president is political Kryptonite. No wonder no Democrat in their right mind wants to be seen within five feet of this guy before November. I don't need a poll to tell me Democrats are jumping ship in drovers over the Afghan war.

President Falls to Record Lows
Afghan War Said To Be Bringing President down.

WASHINGTON — Public support for President Obama's Afghanistan war policy has plummeted amid a rising U.S. death toll and the unauthorized release of classified military documents, a USA TODAY/Gallup Poll shows.
Support for Obama's management of the war fell to 36%, down from 48% in a February poll. Now, a record 43% also say it was a mistake to go to war there after the terrorist attacks in 2001.

The decline in support contributed to the lowest approval ratings of Obama's presidency. Amid a lengthy recession, more Americans support his handling of the economy (39%) than the war.

Even Obama's handling of the war in Iraq received record-low approval, despite a drawdown of 90,000 troops and the planned, on-schedule end of U.S. combat operations there this month.

Only 41% of those surveyed Tuesday through Sunday approved of the way Obama is handling his job, his lowest rating in the USA TODAY/Gallup Poll since he took office in January 2009. In Gallup's separate daily tracking poll, his approval was at 45% Monday.

The waning support for the Afghanistan war coincides with the deaths of a record 66 U.S. servicemembers in July, up from 60 in June. As the last of 30,000 reinforcements ordered by Obama enter the country, the international military force is encountering heavy Taliban resistance in the southern provinces of Kandahar and Helmand.

"It's hard to find any positive news that would boost public opinion," says Richard Eichenberg of Tufts University, who studies presidential polling and foreign policy.

The drop in support also follows the online posting of more than 76,000 documents by WikiLeaks. Two-thirds of those polled said it was wrong for the website to publish the documents.

Obama said Monday that he'll stick to his war plan: training Afghans to provide their own security, then beginning to withdraw troops in July 2011. The poll showed most Americans agree: 57% want a timetable for removing troops, and two-thirds of those say withdrawal should be done gradually.

"We will continue to face huge challenges in Afghanistan," Obama told the Disabled American Veterans in Atlanta. "It's important that the American people know that we are making progress and we are focused on goals that are clear and achievable."

In a CBS interview that aired earlier Monday, Obama said, "If I didn't think that it was important for our national security to finish the job in Afghanistan, then I would pull them out today, because I have to sign letters to these families — families who have lost loved ones."

Obama's address in Georgia was focused on this month's end of U.S. combat operations in Iraq — a commitment Obama made early last year. A force of 50,000 U.S. servicemembers will stay to train Iraqi security forces, conduct counterterrorism missions and protect civilian operations.

"Make no mistake: Our commitment in Iraq is changing, from a military effort led by our troops to a civilian effort led by our diplomats," Obama said.

Not only do Democrats running for election in November want Obama away from them at all cost we now have one of the "venerable" Obama economic czars getting off the administration's sinking ship. The liberal brianiaic that told us the jobless rate would go above 8% if we did not pass the Obama China-enslavement debt Stimulus Bill ASAP is parting ways with the White House Chicago political mob. You know the corpulent Berkley professor that was the primary advocate along with Larry the Snooze and TurboTax Timmy that we issue that huge debt that is going to harvest untold economic pain and suffering for generations to come. BTW, she is getting out of town on news the latest jobless rate is stuck at 9.5%. Remember now, these are our brightest and best liberals from the Ivy league towers that know better than those who actually meet a private concern payroll and make the country work.  They are so smart and polished in their liberal ways they can do all the thinking for us.

Christina Romer walks the plank for Barry

Quote

Christina Romer is resigning as Obama‘s chairwoman of his Council of Economic Advsiors. Along with help from other Obama Administration economic advisers, like Larry Summers, Romer has played a crucial role in defining and carrying out Obama’s economic policies. She is expected to leave by September 3rd and return to her professor job at the University of California in Berkley. Some speculate she may become the head of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco.

Romer is said to have butted heads once too often with Larry “Snoozy” Summers, Obama’s chief economic adviser. She cites “family commitments” in her letter of resignation, however. I suppose the absolute failure of the Obama administration’s economic policies have nothing to do with her decision to resign.

They, the White House, say she played a big role in crafting the Obama stimulus package. Maybe she did, but is that anything to brag about? The Obama administration would always trot Christina Romer’s big, jolly face whenever there was bad economic news. Like when the so-called stimulus, meant to keep unemployment from exceeding 8%, failed and the unemployment rate blew past 10%.

Speaking of unemployment rates, the numbers for July were released today. The country another net loss of over 130,000 jobs. But the fancy math geniuses in Washington still say the unemployment rate is 9.5%. The private sector only created about 70,000 jobs, 230,000 short of the number needed to keep pace with population growth.

Christina Romer is not the first of Obama’s economic team to resign. OMB Director Peter Orszag jumped ship last month. Again, for “family reasons”. Right! The wheels are coming off the Obama Administration as the hard reality of their failed policies ‘come home to roost’. Romer’s resignation will undoubtedly be followed by others. I look to see Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner to go next.

Let us all give the Obama economic gang a hand for the enslavement debt misery they have unleashed for generations of Americans to come.
