Have you ever seen an administration create so much discord among these United States? Do they want another civil war?

Mo. voters reject key provision of health care law

Missouri voters on Tuesday overwhelmingly rejected a key provision of President Barack Obama's health care law, sending a clear message of discontent to Washington and Democrats less than 100 days before the midterm elections.

About 71 percent of Missouri voters backed a ballot measure, Proposition C, that would prohibit the government from requiring people to have health insurance or from penalizing them for not having it.

While I'm happy that MO pushed this back in the face of the Federal Government by a margin of 70% to 30%, I can't help but wonder what happens next.  Here are a few random thoughts...

  • Other states will adopt and vote on similar propositions.  Most if not all will pass my similar margins.
  • Some law suits from the states against the Federal Government will be heard.  Any rulings could be precedent setting on this law.
  • The Supreme Court will look at this at some point.  If Kagan gets approved how does that affect any potential ruling?
  • When does Obama, his minions or the Clintons sue MO or other states for passing this proposition?  They sued AZ over immigration, so that seems to be the tactic when the administration gets blocked on their agenda.

I agree. There is a revolution occuring right now. The only problem is that the average citizen is not getting into positions of power, aka Senate/Congress, because sadly it takes a LOT of money to do so. Unlike in 1776, todays Jefferson, Henry, Franklin, et. al are clothed in designer suits taking money under (and above) the table while telling us they are "for the common citizen".

When the repubs get power back, I hope they realize what their constituents want. God, I pray for term limits and somebody who will lead this revolution.

Americans need to stand up and demand things be done the way they want them done. We're letting a bunch of suits run this thing and all they're doing is running it into the ground. Good for Missouri.

We can impose term limits and send a strong message by never voting for the incumbant.

You are correct. Unfortunately one of the senators from this state does not care what 70% of her constitutes think.

Senator McCaskill Tells votes she cares not what they think video link = http://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2010/08/04/sen_mccaskill_message_received_on_missouri_voters_against_health_care.html

Well, I suppose the people of Missouri like the system the way it is, and that means if you lose your job and have had a heart attack, cancer, have diabetes, or arthritis, then you can't ever get insurance again.  Because you can't cover people with pre-existing conditions without a mandate.

And I guess the people of Missouri like the ability of the irresponsible to free load.  Because if I decide to not get insurance and get sick or in an accident, guess what, YOU GUYS GET TO PAY FOR MY CARE!!!  I LOVE IT!!  The responsible pay for the irresponsible, and those with any chronic disease or at risk for chronic disease get to suck off the public teat since some kind of gubment pool to soak up the high risk patients is the inevitable result.  Which is great for the insurance companies who get to cherry pick the best risks, those who are least likely to actually NEED CARE and the gubment takes the high risk and high cost patients.  It's a terrific subsidy to Wellpoint and United Health.  I bet if more states do like Missouri, there will be the need for a regular champagne delivery to those companies' headquarters for celebratory purposes.

Who says conservatives don't have a plan for improving our broken medical system.

Good luck with that. Everyone is "anti-incumbent" ... except when it refers to their Congressman or Senator, both of whom bring home the pork. It's always someone else's politician whom everyone wants out of office.

The incumbent politician wins in about 90% of all Congressional races. I doubt that changes much, even in this political climate.

Those Missouri voters are just a bunch of racist, bigoted, Teabaggers - just like the SEVEN MILLION Californians who voted for Prop 8.

The Nobility knows better what we need and we will WILL get it - whether WE want it or not.

... and no, it is completely irrelevant that the judge was appointed by Bush '41. '41 also appointed the di*kless David Souter to the SCOTUS.

They are the arguments that kings have made for enslaving the people in all ages of the world. You will find that all the arguments in favor of king-craft were of this class; they always bestrode the necks of the people, not that they wanted to do it, but because the people were better off for being ridden. - A. Civil rights for the minority aren't subject to a vote of the majority.  It's why we HAVE a constitution that guarantees civil rights,

No matter what you think of the decision, right or wrong, popular will is beside the point, just like it was in Brown v. Board and the Love case which struck down restrictions on interracial marriage.  I'd have thought the constitution loving conservatives would get this, but the propagandists have told them to think a certain way, so they do.  So they mindlessly repeat that civil rights are now only as sacred as the momentary opinions of a majority of the voters who show up at the polls on a certain day.

And FWIW, the gay, gay, gay judge was also unanimously approved.
