There are many great teachers, however I believe the problem here is not that she has experience as an educator, but that she has little or no experience as a judicator (Her courtroom experience consists of the six cases she has argued in the last few months as solicitor general)... I suppose you would have no problem going under the knife of a surgeon whose only practical application was being an instructor, or would you prefer someone who has had his or her hands in an actual human body, performing surgeries for the last twenty years? I see no reason why we should subject our judicial system to people who have little or no experience actually working in it, then again it seems that the democrats today have no problem with inexperienced leaders mucking things up as they get on the job training….all the while the nation suffers because of it.

Let us examine another similar case-

In my view, the Supreme Court would benefit from the addition of a justice who has real experience as a practicing lawyer. The current justices have all been chosen from the lower federal courts. A nominee with relevant non-judicial experience would bring a different and useful perspective to the Court.
- Harry Reid referring to Harriet Miers Supreme Court nomination (BTW I was also against Miers....mainly her stand on abortion...but also because her lack of actual experience, though she had more then than Kagan does now.)
