I used to think IBD was a respectable paper.  I suppose not, or they've co-opted the editorial page to the shills.

all we see is economic wreckage from the unbelievably foolish policies pursued by the White House and the Democrat-controlled Congress.

Whether it's the $862 billion "stimulus" that turned into a welfare program for bankrupt states and public unions, or the $700 billion TARP program that became a giant dish of pork for Democrats and their supporters,

1) Nice touch to use the right wing "Democrat" instead of the proper term "Democratic."  It's nice to see that kind of petty bullcrap in a national publications editorial page to give a clear signal the author is a hack.

2) The dumbshiate should recall that the economic wreckage, a broken financial system, losing 750,000 jobs per month, a stock market that lost 25% over the eight years of Bush, about 40% taking inflation into account, a hollowed out industrial core, and an entire DECADE of no jobs growth and declines in real wages for the median worker - all that happened before Obama took over.

3) The stimulus program is all Obama and the democrats.  The TARP is Bush and Paulson.  The right wingers have been intent recently on making TARP an Obama thing, and it looks like this is the latest in their disinformation campaign to rewrite history.  It's working apparently.  Polls show most idiots and right wingers (apologize for being possibly redundant - sure all right wingers are idiots, but not ALL idiots are right wingers) believe in fact that Obama passed TARP.  
  

Here's the real record: America has lost 4.1 million jobs since Obama took office and 7.7 million since the recession began in December 2007. So most of the jobs lost have been under this administration. Whatever else you might call Obamanomics, "successful" isn't it.

This is crap wankery of the first order, seriously only a dolt would write this, or a hack.  I pick hack.

The vast majority of the 4.1 million were in the month immediately after Obama took over, clearly as the bush policies were "working" their final magic.  This is just fact.  To imply otherwise is stupid.

I apologize for pointing out the incorrect use of "democrat" instead of democratIC.  I suppose the misuse of the term has now reached newspaper writers.  The term, accompanied by a long string of bullcrap is a pretty good indication of the dishonest hackery that the article passes off as legitimate opinion. 

But let's assume that "democrat-controlled" is somehow legitimate.  I could be wrong.  Now how about the substance?  I see you didn't search or respond to any of that. 

The fact is the IBD editorial page was given over to simply provably bogus analysis.  It's a shame a national paper targeted to informed business leaders doesn't have enough respect for its readers to honestly address the economic crisis confronting us.

It's just historical FACT that TARP was passed at the insistence of Paulson, supported by the entire GOP leadership, and was signed by Bush.  And TARP was just the next in a long line of Wall Street bailouts that had happened since the Spring of 2008 when the big boys started failing.  What kind of dumbshiate shill now alleges the bill drafted by Paulson and the Bush White House "became" a dish of pork for democrats and their supporters?  Are Obama, Reid and Pelosi so powerful that they were even able to get the Bush WH and economic team to favor democratic interests over the GOP interests.  AMAZING!  And it's even more amazing that the GOP top leadership in the Congress and WH, including Paulson and Bush, went along!  WOW!!

1) The jobs left with the production that has been offshored to China.  I've only pointed out this simple fact about 100 times in 100 different ways, but you guys ignore those posts, preferring to blame the collapse in jobs that happened well before Obama took over - at a rate of 750,000 per MONTH in January 2009, to Obama policies that hadn't been enacted yet, including hundreds of $billions in TAX CUTS just like you all like.

Since we're asking questions, where were the jobs the entire DECADE, eight years of them presided over by Bush.  There were NO JOBS CREATED FOR A DECADE.  And the wages for the middle class, even before the Great Recession, were flat, not a dime in wage gains.  So wha happened?! 

2) Romer probably quit because by all accounts this rational person had her access cut to zero by Larry "Eight Million Man" Summers.  She along with other "liberals" like Paul Volcker were cut out of the loop by everyone's favorite bought Wall Street whore, Larry.  It's amazing how cheap you can buy a man, isn't it.  Of course I've pointed THIS out to you guys about 100 times, too.  Larry prefers policies that funnel billions to the CEO class, just like the Bush administration before him.  As I've said.

3) I don't know why Orzag quit.  He spent a typical amount of time in that thankless job.
