Still, the debate could resonate in Texas, where not only 1.5 million illegal immigrants are estimated to reside but at least 60,000 babies are added to their households annually.

In Texas, between 60,000 to 65,000 babies achieve U.S. citizenship annually by being born in the state's hospitals, according to a tally released by the state's Health and Human Services Commission. Last year, such births represented almost 16 percent of the total births statewide.

Yes, if a child is born here, he or she IS a citizen.  It's been that way for about 150 years.  Is this some surprise to you?  Did this just start happening after the Kenyan Muslim took over?

Bottom line is this has to be scaring the daylights out of the GOP.  When you spend your time painting the party into a tiny corner consisting only of white, southern, religious voters, and the demographics show that population getting smaller by the year, it's got to be worrisome.  I wouldn't think demonizing the kids of hispanics is a great way to get a shift of hispanics to your party, either.  Neither would be supporting a "your papers if you're a darkey" law in Arizona.  I can't figure out what the plan is for the republicans.  Maybe they'll just start doing what they can to prevent non-whites from voting in places like Texas....

Governor Bobby Jindall had better look out for Gray. He is an "anchor baby" too. His parents were immigrants from India. And it doesn't help his cause with the xenophobes in the GOP that he is dark skinned.

Is this what the law says or are you telling a lie?

BTW, I went to Weigels yesterday and was asked to show my "papers" for the purchase I made. Interesting.

I also went to vote on Thursday and had to show my "papers". Who do those racists think they are?

It says that there must be reasonable suspicion or something.  Such as a funny accent, some mexican looking clothes, maybe a beat up old car, anybody doing yardwork for money, etc. aka "if you're a darkey."  Besides, for political purposes, all the hispanics can see is an entire party openly hostile to many of their group.  Do YOU think that's an excellent way to do outreach to the hispanic community - supporting the AZ law then telling them that they'll have to jump through hoops to get their child eligible for citizenship?  And do you think a child of illegals who IS a citizen is going to want to vote for a party that says to him, "You're unworthy of your citizenship, we don't think you should have any rights at all in this country except the right to clean my house and pick my food, but vote for us anyway!!!"

That's some election strategy, seems to me.

BTW, I only use the term "darkey" when responding to Gray.  it's a term he uses, so I'm trying to be considerate.

What was the reasonable suspicion that the Weigel's clerk had for asking to show my "papers"? I have been of legal drinking age for 23 years. Aren't my rights being violated?

Also, I would imagine if the person in a car in Arizona that was pulled over only spoke Russian and didn't have a driver's license or registraion would be hauled off to jail.

Although maybe you will be able to give us some actual real-life examples of your what ifs in the future. Until then we can just depend on Uncle Sam to take care of the immigration problems according to already established federal law.

You WERE NOT ASKED to show papers proving you are a citizen of the USA....you were asked to prove you had a legal right to purchase alcohol, if that was what you were buying.

As for the Russian speaking person...if he or she was white,  in AZ he or she probably would not be asked for any proof of citizenship since the AZ law is aimed at illegal Mexicans...aka...darker skinned people....however if the Russian speaking person had committed a vehicular violation, under the AZ law, that person could be required to prove legal status...if they had no proof with them, even if they were a citizen of this country...they could be hauled off to jail. That would be a dispicable thing to happen if the person was actually a citizen of the USA or even if here legally but had forgot their passport or whatever.

I hope you are only pretending to be as stupid as your remarks about the AZ law makes all of you appear....only a moron REALLY believes the AZ law is not aimed at MEXICANS and that that will lead to all darker skinned people being threatened....even if they are citizens.....but then you are all rethuglacraps, so stupidity is a possibilty!

I'm sure there will be plenty of real life examples of hispanics getting arrested and deported after being stopped for petty offenses.

I think you missed the point, though.  Can you explain to me the GOP strategy in places like Texas where population growth is coming almost entirely from the hispanic community, and the GOP is busy trying to prove how "tough" they can be on hispanics,  first by supporting a law like in AZ that is designed to harass and deport 500,000 illegals, 99% of whom are hispanic, and then by telling those CITIZENS born to illegals that they're just above pond scum and should have no rights or rewards of citizenship, just pay your GD taxes, pick the crops, clean the hotel rooms and don't even THINK about voting, because you're not worthy of being a citizen here.  So F off daughter of illegals, but in the meantime, we'd like your vote!!!  Is that really the long term strategy?

I seriously do not get it.

since illegal aliens are not supposed to be able to vote, it sounds like you are condoning voter fraud.

Only someone with serious reading comprehension problems would come to that conclusion.

Nowhere did NC Vol espouse voter fraud for illegals. Nowhere.

I seriously do not get it.

Not to get side tracked, but since you want to make this about voter/election strategy, let's talk about democrat(ic) strategy:

-What in the hell is the Obama admin doing forcing Americans (be they black, brown, yellow, white, red, etc.) to buy a good or service?

-Why is the first lady going to a foreign country to vacation/party with 40 of her friends, while her hubby preaches "sacrifice" and "come to the gulf" for YOUR vacation?

-Why are the dems soooo adament about allowing the CURRENT federal laws regarding illegal immigration to be ignored?

-Why is the federal government suing states for enforcing FEDERAL law?

-Whose side currently has multiple ethics investigations going on right now?

Maybe some of this explains why Obama and congressional approval ratings are in the crapper.

I seriously do not get it.

And LTC, please stop trying to contribute by making speculative and inane posts.
