Barack "The Surge Won't Work" Obama to Claim Credit for Victory it Bought About

OMG,

You hold on just a darn minute pal. You are entitled to your on opinion but not your own facts. I got a talking/thinking point fax blast analysis of your petty question from Rambo. I am going to set you straight and ape what Rhambo told me to think in his talking/thinking points fax. The president was for the surge before he voted against the surge and blamed others for supporting surge and after he took credit for the surge. Get it straight will ya? The president's position on the Iraq War and the surge is as clear as mud. Your problem is you are simply a bitter clinger unable to understand all of the intricacies of his position. It takes a sophisticated erudite liberal to understand the hidden nuances of it all.

In all seriousness OMG, welcome to 1984 newspeak in 2010. In newspeak you are allowed to say you were for it before you voted against it and it was all the fault of others but you will be glad to take the credit. This sort of thing should give even the left wing myrmidons the willies. Am I the only one to notice the left is getting more and more kooky the closer we get to the November elections. They are coming up with some of the most bizarre and incongruous positions and statements as the summer winds down and we enter the fall election season. Somebody is getting some bad polling data is the only thing I can figure.

PS - You lefties enjoy the MessNBC video on OMG's post above. Perhaps one of the board lefties can reconcile for us the president's words tonight and this video from back in '07. Also, any word on wheather the POTUS has closed down Gitmo like he promised on the campaign trial in '08?

Another question.  What part of Obama's handling of Iraq is a problem?

The problem is he and his followers taking credit for ending the war in Iraq when it was going to end the same way and about the same time regardless of who was in charge. That bunch acts like they came in, made the proper changes, and ended this thing. Wrong! I hope they don't have any sore muscles this morning from all the backing themselves on the back. I'm not surprised. I told several people, maybe even posted it on here, this would end and they'd take credit for ending it.

Shimmy:
So he is a horrible leader (constantly blaming others for problems rather than just working on problems) and an idiot military strategist.  Remind me, why did you socialists want this clown to be president again?

Just for the record, putting Petraus in command in A-stan was a DEMOTION.  He had previously been Commanding General of CENTOM (Central Command) which is a Theater Command and reports directly to SecDef and the President.  Afghanistan is a PART of CENTCOM.  Sort of like putting Ike in command of a division in 1945.

I guess it's just more "competence" from the Regime.  It's ALWAYS good strategy to demote your best general.

Uh huh.  Yep. Mmmmm, mmmmm, mmmmm.

Well, first of all, I assume Gates and the Joint Chiefs signed off on that move, since there wasn't any leaked objections to it, so maybe I'll side with the Sec. of Defense, Petraeus' boss, and his bosses in the Pentagon.  Maybe they think he'll be more effective turning around that disaster in Afghanistan than in an office in Florida...

Gates and the JCs are told what the policy will be and they are instructed to formulate strategy accordingly. Their job is not to pass judgement on policy. Ergo, per usual your logic is flawed. How about the Gitmo question? Has the President made good on his emphatic campaign promise to shut down Gitmo? Also how did General Petraeus go from being a goat to being a hero of the extreme left? The Obama support group moveon.org did a hatchet job on the man and then turned around and are now asking him to pull their proverbial bacon out of the fire.  I don't get it. Perhaps you could spread some light on this illogical pandering and political opportunism from the extreme left.  You posts have been rather bizarre the last few weeks. What is going on with those of you on the extreme left?

Below is a newspaper ad taken out by the Obama support group moveon.org. This group is funded by close friend of the president and chief financial backer George Soros. This ad was taken out at a time when the surge in Iraq was at a crucial stage.
