My goodness, I thought this was the year?  Must be at least 5,000 empty seats at the Odyssey.

I thought bama fans would suck those up after Southern Miss stomped Dubose a few years ago?

Go, Southern Miss!!!!

That loss to Conneticutt in the Papa Johns bowl hurt season ticket sales.  Less tickets were sold than 2009.  This could be the year.  Ace Sanders, Alshon Jefferies, and Marcus Lattimore look like the playmakers on offense we have needed.  With Connor Shaw now on the field, 3 red shirts are burned tonight.

Other than Gainesville, Tuscaloosa, and Athens, you're going to see plenty of empties everywhere, especially against these cream puffs. Who really wants to spend top dollar to see your team play a D-1AA team and do it in the nose bleeds?

I think I heard the Georgia ticket sales were off and they gave a significant rebate to stimulate demand.  Don't know if the campaign was successful.

Connor Shaw first Gamecock TD, future looks bright.  I see a couple of players making plays tonight the recruiting gurus missed.

You can get 4 tickets for half-price from UTAD using your AARP card...

Dooley really needs to knock a home run.

Attendence was 70,438 last night.  Number is way off for a home opener since stadium expansion was completed in 1997 increasing the capacity to 85,000.  I bet in the near future, blackouts for TV in local markets will be utilized to attempt to get attendence up.

I was impressed with the Gamecocks last night, empty seats or not.  Garcia looked good and the young backup is going to be a better QB.  I thought the defense played well also.  Don't believe this will be Coach Spurrier's last year like some want.  Besides he is not ready to quit because he loves coaching too much.

SC did look good, but Souther Miss is pretty bad too.

Hey Charleston:

I'll be in attendance with 5 other of Bama's finest for the Bama/SC game. Any local spots I should catch? (especially food.)

UGA sold out of season tickets like they do every year. The cut off scores for season tickets and road game proirity and JAX tickets were lower than they have been in years (translation more die hards and less whine and cheesers). Been purchasing season tix since 1987. No rebates my man. Don't know where that info came from. First time in a while that all JAX ticket requests were filled and all Carolina road ticket requests were filled without any rebates from the UGA ticket office. Could have been what you heard.

Carolina never sells out unless the opponent brings 12,000+ fans.

May have been another school or a reduction in Booster Club Dues was given.  Good to hear Georgia sold out.

Since the cost of season ticket sales increased @ Carolina, amount sold has dropped from 63,000 tickets bought by 14,400 Boosters to around 40,000 tickets purchased by about 10,000 boosters.  It appeared entire sections were empty last night and that is with 3 game mini packs marketed to stimulate demand.  The only positive is even with the lower ticket sales, the AD is making more money than the sell out days.

Shoney is also correct about the 8 to 10,000 away game tickets certain SEC teams buy aiding final attendance numbers but even when we play Arkansas and Vanderbilt @ home with poor attendance on their part, we sold out.

SC is a small, less developed state with low population.  With higher prices, fan attendance is reflecting that IMO.

Georgia will be a sell out next weekend even with the high noon kickoff.  Other SEC games and Furman will probably sell out also.
