The borrower is part of the problem.

I guarantee there hasn't been a time in history that banks sat around and begged people to take their money that there wasn't a long line of folks willing to take them up on it.  And you all remember the ads telling everyone, no income check, no credit check, no docs, no money down, buy a house, live the american dream, you too can afford to live in a fine mansion.  Hell, George W. Bush said EXACTLY that, that low income first time borrowers didn't have to settle for a crap house....  When those people don't pay, I blame the lenders who had the money and had the responsibility to lend it to people who could afford to pay it back.

The sad part is a whole lot of subprime borrowers who got screwed with option ARMs and all that qualified for better loans, but the bonuses were better the higher the interest rate and the worse the loan, and the therefore with a bigger chance at default.  Sock someone with a piece of crap adjustable ARM they couldn't afford on the front end and sure as hell couldn't afford after the adjustment period, and collect a much BIGGER bonus than making a traditional loan with a chance at those folks making the payments.  It was criminal behavior in many cases, and when not criminal, immoral and unconscionable.

Back to Mr. Lowry's main point:

Quote
Just as stunning as the tableaux of the massive throngs lining the reflecting pool were the images of the spotless grounds afterward. If someone had told attendees they were expected to mow the grass before they left, surely some of them would have hitched flatbed trailers to their vehicles for the trip to Washington and gladly brought mowers along with them.

This was the revolt of the bourgeois, of the responsible, of the orderly, of people profoundly at peace with the traditional mores of American society.

Unnoticed by virtually everyone was the Left's "answer" to the 828 rally.  Unions bussed in the perpetually offended and they gathered in their dozens to be hectored by various washed up hippies, union thugs and other fellow travelers.  Of note, the buses started leaving long before the official end and by the time the last speaker was on the dais the audience consisted of a handful of squirrels and rabbits wondering what all the noise was about.

The assembled "concerned citizen-activists" did leave a reminder of their presence.  They trashed the National Mall.

These people are pigs.  If you want 'em on your side, you are welcome to them.

From the aerial shots of the crowd all these .orgs sent one "representative peasant" to the rally.  No more, no less.

I also can resist pointing out that many environmentalist whacko .orgs are listed as "sponsors" yet none could seem to bestir themselves to actually DO SOMENTHING like, you know, PICK UP THE TRASH.

Not sure I trust pictures headed up by "Progressives, Union Bosses, Socialists and Communists" but I suppose it's a good way to vote, based on which rally drew more people.  I was thinking about voting based on which party had the better ideas, or at least, was moving away from policies that landed us into a depression, with a decade of falling wages, and zero jobs growth with a bigger share of income going to a tiny few than at any time in our history, and our production being offshored to China and Vietnam, a devastated middle class with nothing on the horizon indicating any change soon, etc.

But I think those pictures changed my mind and I'll be supporting the GOP this time out.  They did a disastrous job last time they were in power, but you know, they don't leave as much trash and can bus more people into D.C. for a rally, so that's who I'll go with!

You mean you are not going to base this vote on HOPE? I thought that would most certainly turn the country around.

BTW, I sure do HOPE the free Obamacare kicks in soon.

Obamacare is just the beginning.  Funny how art imitates life.  I know some of you are old enough to remember this one... "Logan's Run".  It was a TV miniseries of the late '70's that focused on the distant future.  When you turned 30, a little red crystal in your palm would turn red to black.  You would thereby report to the main theater in the domed city where you would commit ritualistic suicide in order to "save the planet" and "save the resources".  It was for the betterment of mankind that you threw your self on the sword.

How long before these wacko liberals (who've obviously dreamed and fantasized of this for decades) endorse population control, infanticide, eugenics etc. endorse the "speeding up" of survival of the fittest?

Yeah, the liberals with their firm control over the military will just start going out and killing white cracker babies and the first born of every billionaire, to bring about the communist nirvana that all us liberals are pining for.

Wrong path NC.  It's about population control of the "undesirables".  You know, the brown babies man.  Why else would the leftists so fiercely defend their biggest tool for eugenics...  free on demand abortion.

Margaret Sanger was a pioneer of legalized abortion and the founder of Planned Parenthood, the largest provider of abortions in the U.S. Sanger was also a well-known eugenicist whose writings make clear the historic connection between abortion on demand and eugenic thinking. Given that black women use abortion twice as much as white women, I think it's easy to see the connection.

In "Pivot of Civilization" Sanger makes the following assertion:
"More children from the fit, less from the unfit--that is the chief aim of birth control." The people Sanger considered unfit were "all non-aryan people." She estimated that these people--the "dysgenic races"--comprised 70 percent of the American population. Sanger believed that this "great biological menace to the future of civilization . . . deserved to be treated like criminals." She proposed to "segregate morons who are increasing and multiplying." Successful implementation of her proposals, according to her, would result in "a race of thoroughbreds."

Face it, population control and eugenics all tie back into this grand Progressive scheme and it fits in nicely with this environmental fascism that dictates we are killing the planet, thus we need to reduce our carbon foot print or cease to exist.

I wonder what current Supreme Court Justice and Eugenicist Ruth Bader Ginsburg meant by this statement?  Shocked

“Frankly I had thought that at the time Roe was decided, there was concern about population growth and particularly growth in populations that we don’t want to have too many of,” said the Justice (emphasis added).

And we have guys like Bill Gates out there basically saying we need to depopulate to save the ecosystem.  Through the use of vaccinations, sterilization and eugenics...

These people are pure evil.  Their agenda hides behind a thin veil in the back rooms, waiting for their chance to be thrust upon the people through their legislative enablers.  God help us all, Satan is in control of these people and is the mastermind of their evil designs.

Bill Gates EXPOSED! Wants Depopulation Through Vaccines!

It may be that Gates is evil, but he does explain the comment, here:

http://www.gatesfoundation.org/annual-letter/2009/Pages/2009-preventing-childhood-deaths.aspx

Quote
A surprising but critical fact we learned was that reducing the number of deaths actually reduces population growth. Chart 3  shows the strong connection between infant mortality rates and fertility rates. Contrary to the Malthusian view that population will grow to the limit of however many kids can be fed, in fact parents choose to have enough kids to give them a high chance that several will survive to support them as they grow old. As the number of kids who survive to adulthood goes up, parents can achieve this goal without having as many children.

Now maybe he's a liar and a mass murderer on the scale of Hitler, or worse, but I'd rather wait to hear from an informed person to disprove his statement instead of concluding that a person spending billions of his own money on vaccines is actually engaged in mass murder.  It's the sort of thing a person should require a high degree of proof, for, IMO.

What is true is the more advanced a country becomes, women achieve more rights, and with that and relative prosperity, birth rates decline.  In Europe and the U.S. we are at basically zero growth rate internally.
