Should Bruce get a lump sum going out the door? I say yes give him a chunk of change as he walks away. He has no contract and he is working at WILL and IMO would not get any money. When UT cut his money and voided his contract and he agreed to coach the rest of the year(IMO he thought he could keep his job) we saved money on his buyout and the cost and expense of an interim coach etc. We made the NCAA and will get a payday vs the uncertainty of how an interim would have preformed. In other words we saved Millions of $$$ and also get a tourny payday. Give him a damn check. Since the   have quit bleating and are now  getting accustomed to the reality some are getting mad. You see UT played Bruce like a well tuned fiddle. U^T got him to void his contract, got him to stay and coach for the season & get us to the NCAA, and now out the door for nothing. Now many sheep are bleating for a payoff and I agree BAAAAHHHHHH!!

Bruce has this coming. He lied and cheated, but I like the guy and I want to do right by him.... Now if the new UT prez can come up with a plan to have a public  of Hambones I am in!! Hambone has caused UT much pain suffering, humiliation, and MONEY. He has earned the ole Big Orange Screw

However much Haslam wants to give Bruce is fine with me.

It would be a good idea to give him enough money to keep him happy and be willing to be a friend to the program.  The other four ex-coaches (and Wade Houston) aren't exactly ambassadors for the program.  If Bruce gets a TV or NBA job next, it would be a good idea to stay in his good graces.

There is NO WAY, Brucie should get anything according to David Climer of the Tennessean.

Check out this article and he makes an excellent point.  Why would Bruce deserve anything?  He lied, covered up and when they tore up his contract and offered him a revised deal, he refused to sign it until it was what Brucie liked.

If any of us at our current job and did what we did and our employer let us stay under "conditions" but we said no.  Do you think we would get parting gifts???

Personally, I hope he stays, He is the best thing UT hoops ever had and the only reason they have been relavant in the past 20 years.

I don't get it. Pearl brought this on with his actions (cheating, lying, attempting to get recruits and their parents to lie, threating recruits, and covering up lies,) yet you think he should get a fat check on the way out??? Makes no sense at all. He is keeping UT in national spotlight in a negative way. Do the right thing???

Pay him if he resigns and continues to take all of the blame.  TN has fired 4 of it's last 5 coaches.  It will help bring in a better replacement if he see's that TN didn't screw over Pearl.  It's Haslam's money anyway... why should anybody care?

Still don't see how UT would be screwing Pearl either way. Pearl screwed UT

This thread is too funny.Bruce never gave you any championships but brought you probation and you guys want to reward him on the way out.

Bruce refused to sign his contract and he continued to force feed the fans Steven Pearl.I say kick him to the curb and call it even.

They will not let him go tonight or tomorrow(Sabbath) Sunday seems to be the day of reckoning at UT. A text informed me that ESPN has approached Bruce as a Color man for next year.

Pearl feels like UT family to me, a prodigal son but still a part of the family. Give him a Million and call it even. They renegogiated Fulmers contract knowing full well they planned to run his off to give him parting gifts.
