Mr. Jody Jay Nagel, D.M.A., an associate professor of Music and Composition at Ball State University, wrote to us with a fact-free rant which included wanting to deny Christians the vote. A team from CMI-US answered the fallacies.

Enjoy.

Should people who are brain dead (that would be the creationists) be allowed to vote?

Let's see, YOU think people who are creationists are brain-dead... A very intelligent man once said any fool can be an atheist..what if it was decided that fool atheists should be denied voting privileges? The funny thing is, it was "brain-dead" creationists who wrote our declaration of independence, our constitution and our bill of rights, it was "brain-dead" creationists who acknowledged the innate FREEDOMS for all of us to worship and believe as we choose and that includes the freedom to believe in a god of the imagination that atheists believe in... In the end more people have been given more freedoms under the so-called "brain-dead" creationists than under any other belief system in the world and that includes atheists who according to your own comments we can assume would remove individual liberties simply because it is your opinion that they are not intelligent enough for you. Thanks FL you once again have given us yet another example of what kind of person you really are, a shining star of man-kind a beacon of compassion and understanding and a bastion of liberty for others to emulate and adore.

I am most certainly a creationists, and at last check I am not brain dead. In fact, I consider myself  a Christian intellectual. And based on my discussions with you FL, you are in no position to judge. Your entire worldview seems to be based on your own emotional issues with growing up in the church, and sorted philosophical quips from Hawking you've decided to tout as your own inspired scripture.

You could not be more wrong.

And your entire worldview is based on some writings by religious fanatics that lived some 2000 years ago. Not to mention that those books were written DECADES after Jesus was killed. You have ZERO proof. Just what some guys said a long, long time ago.

Your argument fails. Historical snobbery is a fallacious position. How long ago something was written has no bearing on whether it is true or not. In fact, the Bible has demonstrated itself as a invaluable historical document. We actually don't know for certain how long after the books were written. We do know the exact dates of the oldest manuscripts. And we can show that the originals were all written within the lives of the eyewitnesses and contemporaries of Christ. Within enough time for contradictory testimony to refute the claims. By literary standards, the Bible eclipses all ancient literature by a landslide. Not even remotely close.
Regarding proof. Did you know that you can't prove that Napolean existed? Hard to imagine but true. You'd have to rely on history that was written a long time ago and has been copied. So, from a historical perspective, you can't prove anything. This isn't math. Now, that doesn't mean that within that history there isn't evidence. There is. And some of it is remarkable. Particularly the prophetic elements.

We also have a history of your dialogue on this forum. And I would contend that it is good evidence of what I claimed in my previous post.
