Can you guys win this two years in a row???

UF and UVA look to have the pitching to make a run.  from looking at the bracket, if a team wins tehre first 2 games, they can get by throwing 2 or 3 starters the entire series.  Vandy has the pitching depth to play out of the loser's bracket...

We beat Florida in a 3 game series already this season in Gainesville and won't have to play them unless we make the Championship Series.

Virginia had to throw 2 of their starters in game 1, so they seem hittable.  The pitcher we face tonight is their #1 guy that is 18-1 in his career @ Virginia.  It will be tough tonight but we have to keep the score low, make their ace throw alot of pitches early, and get into their bullpen for a chance to win.  If it is close in the 7th, 8th, and 9th, we can win tonight.  If we win tonight, we can win it all.

I think we have enough pitchers to hang in their a while and might have enough to win it all.

We need our DH, Brady Thomas, to start hitting.  He had runners on base several times Sunday night and did not get the hit we needed.  We would have blown out Texas AM if he did IMO.  Hopefully he puts the bat on the ball tonight.

This season has been Ray's best coaching performance.  He lost his ace for the year at the start of the season and his entire outfield during the season but still made the CWS.

Well, Virginia's ace lasted 4 innings and has the highest ERA of his career.  Things look pretty good for the moment with the good guys winning 5-0.  If we win, this will be the 3rd #1 ranked team we beat this year.  Hope this post doesn't jinx the team.

Great victory last night.  Virginia seemed like they didn't belong on the field with us.  They have some great starting pitchers but other weaknesses in their defense (poor arms in the outfield, errors in the infield) opened doors and most of our runs were scored with 2 outs.

It will be nice to rest a couple of days as we watch our next opponent battle in an elimination game.

Florida is in the same boat as us.

California is our unknown.  I am not sure how we will match up against them and they seem like a scrappy team use to having their backs against the wall that can fight out of a bad situation.

I am enjoying watching this tournament. The SEC looks strong again with 3 of the final 4 remaining with both UF and USC 2-0. I haven't watch much college baseball this year but the new bats have certainly changed the game.

Final 4 are Florida / Vandy / Virginia / Us

Games today are rematches only different pitchers will be used.

I think we are the better team than Virginia but they have better pitching.  They have to beat us twice and we will start our ace, Michael Roth tonight.  If necessary, we have starting pitching that is well rested to use tomorrow if we lose tonight.

Florida has a great team and top notch pitching also.

We are the defending champs but underdogs in most of the media's opinion against the other 3 remaining teams.

Good luck Charlie.

All SEC Championship Series...This will be the 3rd consecutive baseball title won by a conference member.

Can't wait to see the cameo shots of Steve Spurrier wearing Gamecock apparel pulling against the Gators on ESPN.  That should rile them up in Gainesville next week.

We beat the Gators in the regular season series, hope we can duplicate the results next week.  This series may take 3 games.

I hope the History Channel is playing "Swamp People" over the weekend.  I need to see Willie kill a couple of Gators to get ready for the series.

great win, again, vs UVA.

Unable to see much of the game, I have a 14 and 11 year old playing in different citites this weekend.

The UF series will be exciting to watch.  With the dominate perfomances of USC's bullpen, they would seem to have an edge, as the Gators pen was shaky in their elimination of Vandy.

How does Bradley look at the plate?  Any signs of the injury?  Guessing the rest will help.

Some interesting stats:

• With Friday night's win, South Carolina sets an NCAA tournament record (regional, super regional, CWS) with its 14th consecutive victory dating back to last season's CWS. The Gamecocks broke the mark of 13 they shared with Southern Cal (1972-74) and LSU (1997-98) as programs to win 13 consecutive NCAA tournament games.

• South Carolina, which has now played in the past four CWS extra-inning games, improves to 4-2 in extra-inning games in the CWS.

• The last time a conference won three straight CWS titles was the Pac-10 between 1986 and 1988 (Arizona, 1986; Stanford, 1987-88). The SEC will be guaranteed a third straight national title, as the two finalists are both from that conference. The SEC has won the past two CWS titles (LSU, 2009; South Carolina, 2010).

• Florida is now 42-1 when leading after six innings this season.

• Florida starters have not allowed more than three earned runs in its past 15 contests dating back to the final regular-season game against Kentucky on May 21.

• With three RBIs on Friday, Preston Tucker has 20 RBIs in the NCAA tournament, the most of any player. Chad Bunting (Cal) and Joey DeMichele (Arizona State) are tied for second in the 2011 NCAA tournament with 12 RBIs apiece. He also leads all CWS players with seven RBIs.

Amazing game last night with UVA. Although, I did feel sorry for that last pitcher for UVA. What a way to end your season.

Good luck against the Gators. Go USC.

Bradley has made solid contact several times, had a couple of good hits, and made a few strike outs.  Before the injury he was slumping and he appears to be average now.  Definately not the standout player he was last year at the plate.  His defense is still very good.

Hopefully he will break out this week.  This will be the last week we have him as a Gamecock but he might be assigned close by in Greenville, SC so some fans can still see him play.  He was taken as the #40 draft pick by the Boston Red Sox.
