Quote
If Our President Were A Christian...
If our president were a Christian --and one that fought for our rights as believers in the Gospel...

    * We might get back to qualifying as a "Christian Nation" someday.
    * We'd have the same rights as Muslims.
    * We could pray in school again and bring our Bibles too, if we chose to do so.
    * We could pray while at the bus stop and not get arrested.
    * We could pass out Christian literature or witness to somebody and not get asked by police to stop (even though the Muslim or the evolutionist could do their thing on the same street without anyone saying a word, because this is their right, and those Christians shouldn't be imposing their values on other people).
    * We could mention the word "Jesus" at work and not get in trouble.
    * Our president would not be afraid of offending anybody when praying in the name of Jesus before the fancy dinner started.
    * He wouldn't be afraid to say that someone "is wrong".
    * He wouldn't be afraid to tell the truth instead of saying, "Well if that's what you believe, then it's true for you!" just to make others happy and to avoid confrontation. We cannot all be right. We are either both wrong or one of us is right. That's all there is to it.
    * Maybe he would communicate what the "separation of church and state" really means.
    * He wouldn't allow the removal of Christianity while protecting those of other faiths and religions because they have the right to practice their faith. What about us?

What we do have to remember is that the president that we have now and the one that we'll have in the future has been placed their (ultimately) by God, whether we like it or not.

Romans 13-1 says:

"Everyone must submit to governing authorities. For all authority comes from God, and those in positions of authority have been placed there by God."

I am Christian and I have no problem with some of his actions dealing with Seperation of Church and State. I like Christians who show me they are Chrtistian by action not by testifying.

Reflections on 12 years of Catholic Education.

It is a bit embarrassing to have been concerned with the human problem all one's life and find at the end that one has no more to offer by way of advice than "try to be a little kinder".

That's fine and well, however Christ commands us to do both... "And he ordered us to preach everywhere and to testify that Jesus is the one appointed by God to be the judge of all--the living and the dead." "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."  Being a Christian, means acting and testifying, BOTH..It is so foolish when people try and deny that there should be no "morality" in legislation, when in truth all legislation assumes some moral standpoint. All legislation tells us some things are wrong, and some things are right, and there is a very definite morality behind such assertions. Any time someone argues that people shouldn't let their beliefs impose upon their actions, I call a big bologna on them. Especially when they are trying to argue that somehow Christians should not let Christ be the source of their moral starting point. In fact whenever we argue that Christ should not, we are making a moral judgment about the true morality of Christ, and also Christians. So either road you take, you are in fact letting your "beliefs" be the guide....just as you said your "belief" is that people should use actions (like outlawing abortion and criminal behavior) over Testifying, like saying how you believe people should use actions rather than words...in fact testifying to what you believe. No difference. I agree it would be nice IF we had a Christian President whose ACTS were those of a Christian rather than simply rhetoric like so many we have had in these past decades, so far no such luck.
