These Clinton 2012 rumors will not die in DC. WH Press Mouthpiece Jay Carney Shiffman was asked about Hillary jumping into the 2012 Democrat Primary. Interesting.

This has to be at least the tenth thread you've started on this topic.

You seriously need to get a life.

Sorry AV.  The mere fact that the Democratic Party is divided enough to even consider running a primary challenger to Obama is news worthy.  You have to admit that.  The fact that Carney got so defensive and insulted in his response resonates on where this administration is...  In complete denial.

Hillary Clinton is NOT running for President in 2012. Maybe 2016, but not 2012. End of story.

The problem is the democratic party IS NOT CONSIDERING A PRIMARY CHALLENGE.  There are democrats and a whole lot of liberals like Bernie Sanders who hope there IS a primary challenge from the left, but the party won't do it.

Besides, it was a stupid question.  There's no good answer - "How can obama be sure?"  Well, obviously, he can't!  Maybe Kucinich runs - he's out of a job unless he moves to Washington and runs from another state, so maybe Dennis will run.  Maybe Bernie will run as a democrat, even though he's an independent.  Maybe Barbra Streisand will run, or Brad Pitt, or Paris Hilton!!! Now that would be fun!  How can Obama be sure?

As an aside, Carney is painful to watch as a spokesman.

http://www.businessinsider.com/my-political-prediction-for-2012-its-obama-clinton-2011-12

Quote
My political prediction for 2012 (based on absolutely no inside information): Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden swap places. Biden becomes Secretary of State — a position he’s apparently coveted for years. And Hillary Clinton, Vice President.

So the Democratic ticket for 2012 is Obama-Clinton.

Why do I say this? Because Obama needs to stir the passions and enthusiasms of a Democratic base that’s been disillusioned with his cave-ins to regressive Republicans. Hillary Clinton on the ticket can do that.

Moreover, the economy won’t be in superb shape in the months leading up to Election Day. Indeed, if the European debt crisis grows worse and if China’s economy continues to slow, there’s a better than even chance we’ll be back in a recession. Clinton would help deflect attention from the bad economy and put it on foreign policy, where she and Obama have shined.

The deal would also make Clinton the obvious Democratic presidential candidate in 2016 — offering the Democrats a shot at twelve (or more) years in the White House, something the Republicans had with Ronald Reagan and the first George Bush but which the Democrats haven’t had since FDR. Twelve years gives the party in power a chance to reshape the Supreme Court as well as put an indelible stamp on America.

According to the latest Gallup poll, the duo are this year’s most admired man and woman This marks the fourth consecutive win for  Obama while Clinton has been the most admired woman in each of the last 10 years. She’a topped the list 16 times since 1993, exceeding the record held by former First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt, who topped the list 13 times.

Obama-Clinton in 2012. It’s a natural.

Good bump DM...

Even the Democrats realize that as much as the media glosses things over right now, the masses are growing restless.  They have to slap some lipstick on this pig or it won't fly next November.  That lipstick is Hillary Clinton.

I can see an Obama/Clinton ticket beating a Romney/Newt ticket.  At the most fundamental level, what's the difference?

I would say the biggest obstacle to this is EGO, both Obama's and Clinton's.

JR,

You have a better chance of being Romney's VP choice than Newt Gingrich. Seriously.

A Romney/Newt ticket is NEVER going to happen. Obama/Hillary is  possibility, one that I like. But Newt is damaged goods and no one is going to select him as their VP.

I completely disagree AV.

Newt is to Romney what Palin was to McCain.  A perceived conservative running mate to make the RINO candidate more palatable to the conservative voter.

One thing is for certain with Barry, his poll numbers are some of the worst since the days of Jimmy Carter and Biden has proved to be a liability. If Hillary joins the ticket i is a glaring admission of the failure of this administration. It says with crystal clear clarity that they know Barry cannot win with unless some sort of gimmickry is employed. Barry alone on the ticket is unable to win. It is a de facto admission they know he is so weak at the voting booth that he must be supplemented to have a chance to win.
