GusOldie. Did you hear him on the radio? He sounds like he is off the meds and suicidal. Gus hang in there buddy.    He said "I don't know what they are going to do"   "I don't know how they are going to fix this"  Dude, it is people like you that broke it. I guess you would be happy with a 9.5 average win total in 11 game seasons now. Every 3 years in Atlanta. The Hall of Famer that was the most successful coach in school history left your hero Kippy loaded with NFL impact players. Kippy ran off over 40 kids that would be this teams Jr and SR class. Face what I have been telling you, this program will never reach the success of the 2000's again. 1990's?? Fagetaboutit   Few teams in all of college football will ever see that type of success. Take your pills, eat your BBQ and talk about the good ole days. Thanks to Hammy listening to folks like you, that is all we have.

Looks like you have a twin brother on Volchat.Apparently Phil fathered 2 more illegitimate bastards.

I do like the rebuttal:

I guess hindsight is 20/20.

It will take 10 years to get back to that level.
The consistent 8-9-10 win seasons were good enough.  The 5-6 (2005) and 5-7 (2008) seasons weren't good enough.

Even 7-6 (2009) and 6-7 (2010) were better than those.

Apparently hindsight isn't always 20/20.
+1 there Norm.
Why do you think Flumer had the eight is enough clause in his legal robbery of UT contract? complancey and laziness had set in and eight wins were what his goal was going to be for the forseeable future. He went 10 long years without an SEC title and was 29-21 his last four years with victories over Kenutcky (4), Vanderbilt (3), UAB (2), Air Force (1), Marshall (1), Memphis (2), Southern Miss (1), Arkansas State (1), Ole Miss (1), Miss. St. (1), Louisiana Layfayette (1), Northern Illinois (1), Cal (1) and one win over Petrino's freshman laiden 2007 teams.
His record his last four years was 29-21 or an average of a little over seven wins a season, not nine, not 10. Also, as you can plainly see here, 20 of the 29 wins came over weak opponents!

Good stats there.  And that doesn't even approach our abysmal bowl record.  Fulmer's last significant bowl victory before he was booted off the team was over Michigan in the Citrus Bowl.  For those curious, you can go look up and see when that was.

face it, Fulmer was great and a legacy coach and all, but he lived off the aura of the 1998 championship for way too many years.  That's why the decay sat in long before he was fired.  The two subsequent hires have been not the correct men for the job of restoring the program, thus prolonging the recovery.

Thank God and Greyhound he is gone.
