... we may not see this game. Hopefully Tenn won't try to run away scared from this game like they did Carowhina this year.  Shocked

As bad as both teams are, Chik-fil-a may try to buy both of them out.

MRM I'm sure Tenn is lobbying hard to get this game canceled like they did the Carolina game this year. A loss in Atlanta to the pack would set back recruiting in the Atlanta area and North Carolina several years. Two areas Tenn historically has recruited well

Because of TV this game is going to happen, probably a dog of a game and the press will use the oprotunity to remind everybody that DD is on the hot seat and will probablt be fired at seasons end. SEC expansion probably changes UT's schedule to make romm for mizzou but the UT vs UNC game is in stone IMO

PV hasn't the entire schedule been released and the game is still on the schedule?

8/30 or 9/1 - NC State (Chick-fil-A Kickoff Classic; ESPN/ABC)
9/8 - Georgia State
9/15 - Florida
9/22 - Akron
9/29 - at Georgia
10/6 - BYE
10/13 - at Mississippi State
10/20 - Alabama
10/27 - at South Carolina
11/3 - Troy
11/10- Missouri
11/17 - at Vanderbilt
11/24 - Kentucky

Did Dooley catch a break - it looks like we traded Missouri for Arkansas. Although I don't have any idea what kind of team Missouri has coming back next year.

And the Universe is back in balance - it is back to the 3rd Saturday in October.

If you look at the schedule it is the easiest I have seen in years - NC State, GA. State, Akron, Miss. State and Troy. Along with what was the usual November suspects in Vandy and KY. If you add in Missouri Dooley had better win 8 games or "Precious" will be back as Saban's lapdog.

TN had better go 4-0 in November and at least 3-2 in September

For the sake of the program. An NC State loss on national TV would set the program back further than where Fat Phil put it.

I don't know anything about NC State but didn't they beat UNC and Clemson this year?  Maybe it's a little early to count that as a win.

But, it would be a devastating way to start the season to lose to them.

Can we play this game at Tech instead of the dome? Although, UT's record at Tech isn't that good as well.

Play it at Carson Newman. That stadium is about the right size for the level of interest this game will have.

Alum I know one thing about Carson Newman compared to Tenn, they would not have allowed the Jewish Bobby Huggins kid to even sniff some playing time on their Varsity BBall team. That roided up JV wrestler type would have been bricking free throws and layups on the co-ed intramural league. Still can't believe he was getting minutes over players like Maymon that really could have used that time to develop. Feel bad for Alumni and paying fans.
