to a FBS school??? What is the deal? Says a MAC school is ok?  Does Dooley really think UT jr is recruiting against Michigan or Michigan ST? Those days are long past moron...UT jr now competes against MAC schools for recruits. What a dip-sh*t

Bad PR move by a desperate coach.

I agree. But bad PR moves seem to be the only thing Dooley is good at.

Dooley is a low life mutha f*36er if he doesn't release him. Are we to believe we can't be successful without this young man ? BS......   I have supported this buffoon since the 2011 UK game.  Not any more.  He needs to grow up and quite hiding from the fan base since the UK loss.  The more crap he pulls the less I like him and will not be upset if he gets fired next year.
I now believe AD Hart told him to release Arnett anywhere he wanted to go.  I also now believe AD Hart told Dooley to hold that press conference.

AND NO I DO NOT WANT FULMER BACK !!!

It ain't right what Dooley is doing.
Release the kid to Mich or Mich State.
It ain't like he is going to Bammer, Ga or Fla.

DD is only setting the program back as he starts his exit game. This is not good, why any kid would want to stay here for yet another coaching change and rebuilding process is beyond me. IMO we should have replaced DD this year, all this is doing is hurting recruiting for this and next years class. Do it this year and only take a hit this class. Who would want to hang around for the chaos that will define next year. This team cannot win 8-9 games nor compete in the upper half of the SECE under any staff anyway DD. When we get beat by FL next year(perhaps NCS) attendance will fall into the dirt and the UTAD will have to make a move, it is inevitable why not just do it now? I don't buy the we can't attract a big name coach POV so why change. I got news for you we will not go out and hire a "big name" we will go after another mid major do it now.

This article makes me picture Dooley as Ebeneezer Scrooge and that is a compliment to him because Scrooge, even though a fictional character, would be a better coach @ UT.

"So let's call this what it is: Tennessee doesn't want to release Arnett to a school he actually wants to attend because he's leaving after just a few months on campus. And that's petty."

"But as this story continues to unfold, the only person who looks bad is Dooley, and he's just supplying more fuel for a seat that's hot enough already."

For Dooley NOT to release the young man to Michigan or MSU is so damned childish and shows what a prick he is.  What good is a player on the team when his heart isn't here and he just doesn't want to here any longer. He will not be productive or be reliable.  So Dooley because of the season, the UK game, your childish actions of this release and finally your hiding from the UT fan base and media since the UK game, I am finished with you.  Good riddance prick.

When Douglas wanted to leave I supported DD's decision because of the substance abuse history, this kid does not have those problems. This kid see's a program that is preparing for a throw away season and a coaching change and does not want to waste a year of his life being involved in that mess. I was "told" 6-8 potential starters over there also want to jump ship. Some of the old Lettermen are jumping in and trying to re assure these kids to hold on things will get better. This is the other side of the argument of giving DD another year because he needs at least 3 years to show if he can do the job. Kids get screwed and sometimes kids leave when they see the handwriting on the wall and just don't want to deal with it.

Arnett wants to be nearer his father in Michigan who has become quite ill. That is his stated reason for wanting to leave UT.

So now Dooley caves to the pressure and releases the kid after taking the huge PR hit. Thought that guy was smart?
