That translates to over 3000 per game. I was told that has even the opener was down. I wish folks would support Coach Martin, Pearl will never be back and the guy is a damn fine coach who would be coaching at Missouri if he wasn't here. This team needs to win but in his defense remember he lost 1 kid to the NBA and the asshole is playing somewhere overseas. He has just landed a top 15 recruit and he is in on some top notch talent and the kids he has signed that many thought were not up to TN standards have all worked out.

My last post for awhile it is 11.57. Good luck all email me if you all need anything.

Martin lost to Austin Peay at home. They were 1-9 at the time.

Spare me he's a "damn fine coach."  He has yet to prove anything other than he signed a prized recruit.

I suspect attendance will pick up somewhat when Stokes plays. Then it will depend on whether or not he makes a difference to this anemic team. If he plays up to the hype, people will come. If not, it will decline again.

People are finally saying "enough is enough" with the  the UT Men's Athletic Department is selling. I don't blame them and wouldn't fork out hard earned money to support an inferior product, football or basketball.

Austin Peay didn't have Fraley for nine games during their 1-9 start.  He's their leading rebounder and shot blocker.  Their backup center has hardly played since Fraley's return.

Bruce lost to Indianapolis with this group plus the two that left for the NBA and European League.

You can't make chicken salad out of chicken poop and it will take some time to turn this mess around.  Getting Stokes to Knoxville is pretty impressive.  PV is correct and TN is fortunate to have Martin as their coach - but this year is realistically in the tank.  It would be even if Coach Kryzewski was running things this year.

Attendance will pick up for the SEC games. Even when Pearl was winning 30 games a season, most non-conference games were only half full. People around here don't care about basketball unless they're winning and playing against teams they've heard of. Just wait until the next three Saturdays. The UF and UK fans will be at TBA in force and they'll be plenty of people there for the UConn game.

I really wish I could have seen just one year of Hopson playing under Martin.

I think he is going to be a great coach (probably wishful thinking more any analysis of the games) but he has a chance of getting into homes of players that Pearl had to BS. The grandmothers and mothers will trust Martin - he can relate to any type of players we need.

We can't get the same players that Krzyzewski can get - we for the most part don't want the players Calipari gets but we can get good solid citizens and good players like Stokes.  I thought that was extremely impressive for Martin to make up that much ground in such a short amount of time.

Guys, Pearl is finished coaching in College.

It doesn't matter. UT should NEVER lose to Austin Peay, whether they are 1-9 or 9-1. with or without Fraley. That loss was inexcusable.

If you want better attendance then win some games. You get what you get when you lose to 3 mid-majors. It is nice to see UT own Florida in one sport.

Add Georgia to the list of inexcusable losses on Martin's resume. There is NO EXCUSE to lose to Georgia, road game notwithstanding. They suck big time.

This team seems to play up or down to their level of competition.

This team just isn't that good.  Over the stretch of a long season, most teams have a few games where they play down to their competition.  I think we saw that from UK on Saturday.

TT,

How the hell do you lose to Georgia (who is awful) and beat the defending national champions and 13th ranked Connecticut within 48 hours??   Unreal.

I have to give props to Martin on the win. I've been very critical of him, but he clearly deserves credit for beating UConn. Wow. Great job yesterday.

Someone please explain to me how you lose to Austin Peay and Georgia, but beat Florida and Connecticut?
