That would be a mistake.  He had talent galore in Miami with a renegade program in trouble with the NCAA and still was bad in the weak ACC.  Tennessee can do better than that and if Dooley hires him, he needs his head examined.

Charleston, I completely agree - I don't understand all the excitement. The guys on VQ are ecstatic about the possibility of Shannon being hired.

He was a bad HC, but an outstanding DC.

Spurrier had his resume last week and I am sure he put it at the bottom of the pile.  Stoops from Arizona is available.  He would be a much better hire than Randy Shannon IMO.

Did the LB, DL, and DB coaches leave with Wilcox?

I just read on a Clemson site that Dooley called Kevin Steele first.  Now this would be a good hire IMO because he has Marion Hobby as DL coach and that could get UT two highly sought after stud Defensive Linemen, Carlos Watkins and Jonathon Bullard from North Carolina.  Steele also gets great LBs in recruiting and signed 3 or 4 that were ranked 4 stars or better for Clemson last year.

I hope Dooley is watching the Orange Bowl tonight and changes his cell phone # so Steele can't call him back.  Pitiful Defense by Clemson.

I expect the DC to be neither Shannon or Steele. The same people that said Shannon also was predicting Dooley to step down at the press conference1/3. How did that work out? I wonder if the LaTech DC is available?

Whinervol, thats more like the hire I'd expect Dooley to make. He has to have somebody in here that can coach on his level!
