Shouldn't the Michigan kicker been called for a false start?  Just wondering....

Now that is a good point that needs to be confirmed.  He did take a step before the ball was snapped and did it on several kicks last night.

Wonder if he were viewed as a QB lifting his leg to put a man in motion?

Both of those teams were very mediocre last night IMO.  I can't remember the last time I've seen an all white DL win a college football game like Michigan did last night.

Two WRs that were products of South Carolina High School Football won MVP in their Bowl Games so far.  Junior Hemingway of Michigan and Alshon Jeffery of South Carolina.

That was a catch in the endzone in OT as well. "White DL"?? Isn't the sack leader in the NFL white?

The only things I can think of are 1) the refs don't watch the kicker before the snap or 2) He stepped with his right foot but didn't "move" his body. If that's the case and I'm a VT player and see the kicker move I'm moving.

You bring up an interesting point.  I don't have TiVo, but I'm fairly sure the Michigan kicker's body moved entirely forward.  When I watched the replay, he didn't get re-set for a second, and by rule, that would be illegal motion (moving toward the line of scrimmage before the ball is snapped).  However, no one (VT or TV) said a peep, so maybe there's some caveat to the rule that I'm not aware of.  If anyone knows, I would like a definitive answer

He could have moved at the time of the snap, but needed to hesitate a count for the snap to go the 7 yards to the holder.

I didn't see the game but IF the kicker did this multiple times during the game, Beamer should've informed the refs.  Espicially since he is big on special teams play.

I am 100% confident that our coach Dooley would have informed the refs.

Are you sure??  If he has learned to count to 11, he might be able to do that.
