Is Romney Going To Blow The GOP Nomination?

Just 10 days ago it appeared Romeny all but had the GOP nomination wrapped up. He had won Iowa, New Hampshire, and had a double digit lead in South Carolina. In one week, a recount appears to show Santorum actually won Iowa and South Carolina is a dead heat between Gingrich and Romney as I write. Furthermore, he has made several gaffes, from not releasing his taxes, to saying nearly $400,000 in speaking fees is "not that much," not to mention trying to explain his work at Bain, etc.

If Gingrich wins South Carolina, we have a new race. Go Newt go!!!!

I am praying (figuratively) that the GOP nominates Gingrich ... and so are Democrats. Beating Gingrich will be a cakewalk compared to beating Romney.

Wouldn't you love to see Gingrich destroy Obama in a debate? They would have to extend the time because of all of Obama's uhhhhs.

Hopefully, at some point, Obama's record will be brought up. Right now, with the help of ABC and NBC, they are picking off Obama's potential opponents. I wish the MSM would vet Obama like they do the repub candidates.

Drudge really screwed up the timing of the Gingrich sex/marriage stuff. ABC was holding it until after the SC primary. Ironically, Drudge broke this story on the anniversary of the Clinton-Lewinsky scandal.

7. has increased federal funding for science research
8. rescued the auto industry from complete collapse
9. inherited an economy that was losing 750,000 jobs/month and that is now producing jobs
10. ended torture as US policy
11. is providing better armor for US troops
12. lowered taxes on the middle class
13. 4 million more children now have health care who were previously uninsured
14. closed offshore tax havens for mega-rich cheats
15. Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act-gives equal rights for women
16. increased loans to small businesses
17. increased spending on repairing infrastructure
18. extended unemployment benefits for millions of unemployed workers
19. Hate Crimes Prevention Act
20. increased funding for student loans and pell grants

Those are just a handful (I could list more). You bet I hope the media brings up Obama's record.

  That's hilarious. Have you seen the ads Romney, Gingrich, et al have been running about their rivals? The media isn't "picking off" anyone. It's an internecine fight and the Republicans are eating their own. The media hasn't done squat.

Uh, Gingrich's ex is the one who made this an issue (I suspect she has wanted to derail Newt for some time). And Newt is the one who is a serial adulterer and has had THREE marriages. There's something ironic, not to mention hypocritical, about a guy preaching about "family values" who doesn't practice them.

I can't wait until (hopefully) Team Gingrich has to explain why he served divorced papers on his cancer stricken wife in the hospital; how he cheated on his second wife; why he was forced BY THE GOP to resign in disgrace as Speaker of the House; why he supported research to combat global climate change before he changed his mind to appeal to the anti-science far right; how he was paid hundreds of thousand dollars from Fannie Mae before he condemned them; his Tiffany's bill; his $300,000 fine for ethics violations; bouncing checks in the House; his support for a health insurance mandate before he flip-flopped to appease the rabid right, etc.

I'm not accusing you of being a Rush parrot, but I did happen to read a Rush transcript last night.  It was very long, but the gist of it was, since we don't know about all of Obama's girlfriends and all of his mistresses since being married to Michelle, it's because no one looked, not even the right wingers who wrote BOOKS about his life, and $millions of right wing opposition research. 

No, it's a conspiracy, the media is in the tank, because the absence of stories about his philandering are proof they are out there but being covered up.

So, you think that the right wing media hasn't looked?  That Hillary's team just forgot about opposition research, like we saw McCain's folks did with Romney?  People have written books about the guy, and he's been President now for a few years.  And the Koch's and their ilk aren't short of money or people willing to investigate the President to grease the skids for their preferred guy.  You'd think if there was some smoking gun out there, we'd know about it. 

I honestly don't get this argument: Absence of some scandal is now proof that there IS a scandal and the biased socialist marxist media is COVERING IT UP!!!! 

Aka, "Sure, we don't KNOW of any scandal, but it's out there!!!  He's the most crooked President EVER!!!"

BTW, not arguing he's a saint, there have been a lot of less than flattering revelations, and you can't rise to President without being open to a lot of downright corruption, but the argument that because it's not been reported that there is a coverup is just bizarre.

I guess you are right. So let's forget about the things we do not know about Obama and focus on the things we do know about him. At some point, maybe there will be a focus on these things.

As I have said before, one of the things I would look forward to with glee IF Newt is the nominee would be the debates. What, ummmm, errrr, ummmmm fun that would be.
