Early decision? Obama ONLY had a month to look it over. What happened to "we have to pass it to find out what is in it" policy?

I think you're joking, but the big sticking point was Nebraska rejected the route through their state since it went over an gigantic aquifer which is at places near ground level, and a oil spill would be an environmental disaster.  This is the GOP controlled state of Nebraska.  Not libruls, or whackos, just people who are sane enough to notice that a pipeline over an aquifer that provides water to a few million, along with irrigating a lot of crops, is a bad idea.

So they're working on a new route through red state Nebraska.  It's not been identified yet.  So an approval of the pipeline based on "we promise it will be a good route, 100% safe, really, cross our heart, TRUST US!!!" wasn't going to happen.  The minute the demand for an early "decision" was published, a number of observers said this was the inevitable result.  He's make "A decision," all right, but the demand guaranteed it would be REJECT.  And when the pipeline was rejected as predicted, the gubment said they'd revisit it later, when an actual route to approve was in place.   That's what this whole fake controversy is all about.

In the meantime MILLIONS Of JOBS are at stake!!!  The real number is around 6,000, temporary jobs, but this is propaganda, so they've revised the number upward each week it seems, it could be 8 MILLION!!! jobs by this afternoon.  Economic recovery depends on it!!!

Charitable?

Tell me how much Obama and Biden gave in charitable contributions last year? It was just released yesterday. You should be embarrassed.

Generous?

Yes, with other people's money.

Lavish?

Yes. See Obama's vacations for a good example. And see how lavishly liberals like to spend other people's money.

Enlightened? Tolerant? Broadminded?

Yes, of liberal ideals only.

Way to highjack a thread BTW.

Let's get back on topic instead of going down rabbit holes. Anybody have any opinion's on The One's speech last night? Do you like the state of the union?

My favorite line was "no more bailouts, no more handouts, and no more copouts".

Of course Obama took credit for the bailout of the auto industry. And then proceeded to discuss the bailout/handout to people who bought houses they could not afford. And then the "handout" of free education, etc. etc. etc.

I would really like to hear what FL and NCV thought of Andrew Sullivan's thoughts regarding the speech. He was just praised by libs/loons. FL even started a thread about an article he wrote. I think he is confused as well about what to call Obama: big government socialist AND a plutocrat AND a populist. Maybe we could create a new word for people like Obama?

Andrew Sullivan: "I was hoping for a vision. I was hoping for real, strategic reform. What we got was one big blizzard of tax deductions, wrapped in a populist cloak. It was treading water. I suspect this will buoy liberal spirits, but anger the right and befuddle the independents. It definitely gives the Republican case against Obama as a big government meddler more credibility. I may be wrong - but the sheer cramped, tedious, mediocre micro-policies he listed were uninspiring to say the least... We voted for Obama; now we find we got another Clinton."

Since Andrew Sullivan JUST wrote an article about Obama's critics being dumb, and now he is being critical of Obama, does that make him dumb?

You mean the union loving communist plutocrat, the anti-capitalist Wall Street puppet, the marxist maoist nazi socialist librul anti-colonial illegal Muslim terrorist loving war mongering anti-Semite who has been programmed since birth for this moment by Soviet/Russian agents.....

It's going to have to be a word that captures every negative stereotype that's even been imagined by right wing kooks.  If they've thought of it, Obama has been called it, even including the ANTI-CHRIST!!!  Well, so far no one that I've seen have alleged he's a secret Jew, but all the other bases are covered as far as I can tell.

I generally don't watch speeches or debates, of either party, and didn't last night.  We watched the Australian Open - far more entertaining.

And I haven't had time yet this morning to read any of the address.  So I really have no comment.  From what I have seen of the coverage, it was typical, blah, blah, blah, with partisans either predictably pleased!!! or outraged!!

Andrew Sullivan is an odd guy - he calls himself a conservative, but he's a contrarian! or so he says, and he's gay, so he's able to speak the truth about both parties or something.  I don't read his stuff anymore and haven't for a very long time.  It's just not interesting to me, as a rule.

Who has time to listen to a debate when your sole reason for living is  to regurgitate Axelrod DNC talking points? So many DNC talking/thinking points to repeat so little time.
